during one week at RLRR. I sent out pictures of a group of animals
we were hoping to find help for including now Ellie Mae Clampet, Shyla, a juvenile puppy with the eye poked out and a pitbull/lab dog named Casey with scars all over his face.
Someone forwarded the pictures to Pet Haven and Ann emailed me with the good news that Pet Haven would take Shyla.

Pet Haven is an incredible organization with a very hard- working group of dedicated people. We adopted a special dog
from them 14 years ago, and we
knew back then that they were top
notch. Thank you Pet Haven for
the many years of serving the animals and for making a huge difference in the lives of those animals who come off the Reservation. You'll always be
the best of the best to us.
Pet Haven continues to have a wonderful organization and so much experience in the last 50 years!! Wow- just imagine rescuing animals since the 50's---and still with zeal and compassion-- hats off to Pet Haven!!
I cried when I read this story - but it has a happy ending! Shyla looks so much better now. This is a great story. Thank you, everyone, for saving this dog and her companion. I just don't understand how people can treat their animals like this.
What a sad story indeed. It's beyond words how wonderful it is that there are people who rescue these dogs and give them a second chance. We can't say thank you enough for our Elly May and her friend Shyla, they would have no doubt died there if it weren't for you. Mike and I just said last night that our next dog will also be a Red Lake dog.
