Happy Birthday to Karen Good!

I just found out that it was Karen's birthday yesterday (Oct.25). Happy Birthday, Karen!

If you know anything about Red Lake Rosie's Rescue, you know that Karen is the heart and soul of the place.

If you have visited the rescue, you know how hard the work is physically and it is even more demanding emotionally to deal with abandoned, starving, sick and injured dogs and cats day after day.

However, dealing with people may be the hardest part. Not just the people who abuse or neglect their pets, but also the constant need to ask for help to financially support the rescue and to find homes for the animals.

Karen reads this blog every day. You can add a comment to this post to let Karen know that she is appreciated.

Otherwise, just keep supporting Red Lake Rosie's Rescue in whatever way you can. That is our gift to Karen and Karen's gift to us.

Happy Birthday Karen! Thanks for all you do for the dogs and cats. And all the people you help too. I will never forget Marilou and I riding on the back gate of your pickup. We were such city gals. I love the times I have spent at the shelter watching how wonderful you are with all the animals. You have such a gentle spirit that transfers to all the dogs we bring to the cities. Peace. Laura

Happy Birthday Karen! Hope you get to do something fun today! (besides clean up dog poop)

You are an inspiration to so many - and I feel honored to have been able to meet you and transfer back 17 pups that would probably not be alive today if not for you!

I encourage everyone to go up to Red Lake and help! I hope you get someone to help out and I hope Mike was able to adopt Gracie :-)

Happy Birthday Karen!!! If it wasn't for you I would still be wandering around the reservation looking for food and trying to survive the frigid winters! You saved my life .... you gave my 8 pups a chance ... and you almost made it possible for me to NEVER have anymore pups!! :)

Thank you for rescuing me Karen and for entrusting me to the care of Pet Haven. I will never ever forget you .... and I will be back to visit you some time in 2010! I think mom told you i'm a Canine Good Citizen ... and i'm now a therapy dog in training. By early December, I'll officially be a Delta Society therapy dog and will continue to volunteer working with at-risk youth!

Love,
Ahnung

Happy Birthday Wonderful Lady! I cannot tell you often enough how much I respect and admire you. You are my inspiration and I think of you on every single transport I do and every time I look into the eyes of yet another rescued dog or cat. You truly amaze me.
Have yourself the BEST year - you deserve it!!
