Saviors of Sebastian

Back in Christmas 2011, an elderly lady Olive wanted to give a home to a little stray semi feral dog we named Tippy. [Please read that blog post, too, here.] Tippy remained with Olive until late fall 2013 when we got a call that Olive was no longer able to keep her rural home and was moved to assisted living.

Kevin and Karen made a trip to retrieve Tippy and we put him in a kennel once again at the RLRR shelter.  Tippy remained somewhat fearful and would not walk on leash.  We were hoping to get a foster home for Tippy, now named Sebastian, before the very cold weather arrived.

Thankfully, All Dog Rescue took Sebastian into the foster care of John Rossakis, who has fostered many of our dogs.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER HOME:
Baby steps: Sebastian is now walking out the door with his leash & harness on, going down the front steps, and jumping into the back of the car without having to be picked up & carried. Let's hear it for the ol' boy. Next we'll be working on taking a short walk around the neighborhood

FURTHER UPDATE FROM FOSTER HOME:
Sebastian is going to his new family today. He was a scared, lost boy when I got him and over the last few weeks he's come out of his shell to show what a loving, loyal and gentle soul he is. It's always the dogs who need the most "work" - the frightened, the discarded, the hurt - who work their way deepest into your heart. He's going to an absolute dream home (several fenced-in acres with a great family and another big dog to play with) so the saying goodbye will be alot easier. AND we're getting our new foster dog tonight, right on Sebastian's heels... no rest for the weary We'll really miss you Sebastian, but mainly we're going to celebrate the fantastic life that awaits you in your new home!
AND:
Sebastian's new family sent me an update on how well he's settling into his new home. I think this photo (above) says it all. Miss you boy!

KAREN:
We are so happy for Sebastian and his new indoor life.  Thank you All Dog and John for helping him!
