KandiKane

Kane, a cocker spaniel, was rescued from the Bemidji Pound by the O'Sullivans and they brought him to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. His next stop was All Dog Rescue where he was in the foster care of our faithful transporter, Barbie.
He had a double ear infection, was badly in need of bathing and grooming and he was food aggressive on arrival. Barbie worked with him to overcome his health problems and emotional challenges.
Barbie saw the goodness in Kane from the start and did everything possible to make sure that he got a chance at the good life......and it looks like he did. We are so pleased for him!

Kane was adopted in February of 2011 by a mother and daughter. After the mother moved to the nursing home, Kane was still able to visit her there. The daughter explains, "She always made sure he had his supper with her. Besides his regular food, he would get his little dish of whatever she had that night. She would always say he was so smart, which he is."
When the mother passed away in January of 2012, memorial gifts were sent to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. Certainly Kane's life was saved to brighten her last year and he continues to be a joy for the family.
This is a beautiful happy story that would never have happened without the intervention of the special rescuers. Far too many companion animals are euthanized each year without anyone making an effort for them. It isn't magic;  it requires donations and volunteers. Thank you to all who help Red Lake Rosie's Rescue continue its mission.

This one story that we always talk
about, knowing the importance of
that teamwork on behalf of Kane.
From the ACO seeing the beauty and
goodness in Kane, to RLRR,the transport, foster care (with tremendous patience and love, Barbie!), and finally into a very
loving home.....big smiles and
appreciation.....thank you all!

Wow- I am so happy to see how Kane went from a "throw-away" dog that was to be euthenized all alone in a pound- to being recognized as such a prized animal!! Thank you to O'Sullivans, Barbie, and the fine family that adopted Kane!!
