Final transport of 2009 on Dec. 29

I wanted you to know we had another transport on December 29. This will be the final transport for 2009 which puts our grand total rescue, shelter, and transfer at 859 this year which included 673 dogs and puppies, 183 cats and kittens, l horse, l donkey, and l deer.

PEACHES & PORKYDELLACLARENCEDEAR ABBYWe sent out 6 dogs/ pups and 6 cats on this final transport. I met the O'Sullivans in Bemidji and they went on to meet Barbara for the final leg into the metro.

Animals went to Tricounty, RLRR foster care, Pet Haven, Second Hand Dog, and Secondhand Hounds.

Special riders included Ethel, the 19 1/2 year old calico cat who went to a foster home at Pet Haven. She will spend her days with Pet Haven since she is very old and probably will not be adopted. Also Clarence, our puppy survivor, of not one but two episodes of hypothermia!! Clarence went to join Elbert in Ann's care.

TEAKMIDNIGHT & CECILELIBBYBUTTONSWe want to thank all the transporters, the rescues, the metro committee, the RLRR Petfinder founders and fosters, our local rescuers and committee members, Lawson Family Fund, and all our financial supporters for our most productive year to date. A final report of rescues, neuter/spays and progress will follow.

Have a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Karen and RLRR
