Mike & Lauren: BUSY visit/BIG transport

Mike and Lauren visited Red Lake Rosie's Rescue once again. Lauren arrived Wednesday, February 23rd, and Mike arrived Friday February 25th with a rented van provided by our metro support group and friends. The van was loaded with food, crates and supplies to help the shelter and community animals.

MIKE AND THE RENTED VANThe days passed quickly as we were busy taking care of many animals that came and also visited the Red Lake Elementary School with humane education classes.

LAUREN AND MONSTERLauren took special care of all the cats and a little neonatal litter of 3 tiny three-week-old orphan pups that arrived on Tuesday night. The mama was dead, and so Lauren tried her best to feed and care for them. We lost the struggle with two, however, Monster, the little male rode out with Lauren today enroute to Act V where he will get great care.

We also had many trips to the vet during the week.

APPLEMike spent lots of time organiziong and unloading food and supplies into the barn leaving us well-stocked. He brought donations from all corners of the metro.

SLATEAs usual, we had community members that stopped by the shelter. One man stopped for a dog house and some straw for his dog who needed shelter and food, another man stopped in who needed food as well. A couple stopped by to get some wormer for their 4 cats who needed help. We have a great connection to the community and the residents feel comfortable asking for help.

LAUREN & GREMLINLauren and Mike left at 9:00 am on Sunday February 27th loaded with 10 cats and 17 dogs and puppies off to many rescues including Pet Haven, A Rotta Love, TLC, Act V, Feline Rescue, Tricounty Humane Society, All Dog Rescue, Second Hand Dogs, St. Francis of Assissi, and Maia Pet Project.

MOLLYDOLLYThey will meet the O'Sullivans in Bemdji to add 2 more small dogs to the van.

TOBYToby went to Maia Pet Project

STANLEY STEAMERStanley Steamer was found wandering in the west end on the road in very cold weather. A nice man found him and brought him to the shelter. He is at St Francis now. (Stanley Goes to School - will be another blog post as we took Stanley with us when we went to do humane education last Friday!)

JETTAJetta was rescued by Polly and is enroute to TLC

FOUR SHEP PUPSA little litter of 4 scaredy pups are on their way to TLC. Mike and Lauren warmed them up quickly.

CARRIE, THE CARROTA cat with seniority, Carrie, The Carrot leaves for Feline Rescue after being free in the cathouse since August. She is a darling cat.

GILDAGilda, a little garbage dump rottweiller was rescued by Polly and gets to go to A Rotta Love.

BLAISEIt is amazing the teamwork and support we have to benefit the Red Lake animals! There are so many good people and rescue groups out there that help us make a difference by each doing what they do best.

MIKE & LITTLE PUPSLAUREN & LITTLE PUPSA special thank you to Mike and Lauren for their dedication and kindness. They have a great way of being able to reach all the animals, and even the fearful ones are trusting of them in a very short time.

JONIIt is peaceful at the shelter today and a sense of relief as Mike and Lauren drove off, knowing we have moved out animals with hope for the future and made space for the upcoming clinic surrenders and others that will need our help in the meantime.

THANK YOU ALL.
Sincerely, Karen RLRR
