Youth Works returns in summer 2012

We are happy that Youth Works is coming back to help at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. We expect help in June and July this summer with a variety of planned projects.

The grounds work will continue. Last year the group cleared a lot of brush to reduce the number of mosquitos and allow the air to move and keep the shelter dry.

Painting is another project we hope to add this summer. We would like to paint the cat house which will require 10 gallons of redwood colored paint. We had enough paint to do 2 of the cathouse exterior walls, but the logs are very dry and we need more paint.

CATHOUSE NEEDS PAINTWe also want to paint backboards of 20 kennel areas requiring 5 gallons of tan colored paint.

KENNELS NEED PAINTWe have priced the paint at Menards at $15.00 per gallon after rebate, and are asking if any of our supporters would be willing to donate toward the cost of the paint as the labor of all these students is free.

We are looking forward to this group coming as they are hard-working and very friendly group of kids. The LOVED interacting with the animals last summer. There will also be five Youth Works volunteers to help on June 20-21 during the clinic.

Sincerely, Karen RLRR

Met some of these wonderful kids
at Karen.....they have worked so
hard cleaning, painting, and of
course giving some much-needed
one-on-one attention to the animals. It is exciting to see
their enthusiasm in helping to make RLRR look terrific. A big
thank you to each!
