Honor the Animals event at Leech Lake

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue was represented at the "Honor the Animals" event held on the Leech Lake Reservation on July 29th by Carol and her children, Nancy, Tom, and Carolyn.

They participated in the parade and had a booth with information about our project.

We are so happy about the Leech Lake Legacy program, the neuter/spay
clinic and the community involvement there. There is now a program
to help the animals of Leech Lake which is something we have hoped for.

Augie, the little RLRR puppy was a "big hit" at the parade

The drum sang an honor song and a prayer was offered for the animals.

I love this- this is really
a good and positive community
element and will help mainstream
the idea that animals need our
care

Thank you, Priest family! Carol and her family are awesome! ^_^ I'm hoping to get to one of these events soon - every time, I'm working! It's nice to see a familiar face, too - Audrey Thayer and her bird wagon is pic #3, lol.

A nice time at the parade: about
30+ animals (dogs, 1 kitten, and
domesticated birds), 60+ walkers....and 70+ hotdogs and nearly 100 hamburgers eaten as prepared by local law enforcement.
What a good bunch of people. Nothing like hanging out with other animal lovers. Hope this
becomes an annual event.
