Linda's third visit in two months

On Monday, December 27th, I drove up to the shelter for my third visit in the last two months. It was a quick visit because bad weather was looming and I had promised to deliver Black Eyed Susan, one of the shelter cats, to an adopting home I had found for her.

LINDA & YOKOAs you all know, Karen is overloaded with cats and they are simply the most delightful bunch of cats you will ever meet. They are all extremely affectionate, bright and adorable.

I urge all of to do everything you can to find homes for these cats. There are more cats out in the community desperately in need of rescue and we need to make room for them!

TWO OF FOUR PUPS & HEIDIHeidi Hunstad drove up on Tuesday. In spite of her cat allergies, she volunteers with cats once a week in the Cities, and is a willing (if sneezing) cat worker at the shelter.

PETULATuesday evening we received five tiny puppies, only weeks old, who had been abandoned by their starving mother in a hole in the ground. A community member finally decided to act and brought them to the shelter. Unfortunately, with nothing else to eat, the puppies has all eaten straw. Of course, they could not digest it and Karen, Heidi and I were up late into the night on Tuesday trying to save them. You'll hear the rest of their bittersweet story from Karen and Heidi.

GALENAI left Wednesday morning with Black Eyed Susan riding shot gun, headed for her new forever home. Also on board were Petula, Galena and two wee pups, all headed for Tri County with hopes of great futures.

BLACK-EYED SUSANP.S. I checked in with Black Eyed Susan's new family on Friday and it's a lovefest over there!

Thank you, Linda! I'm glad to hear Black-eyed Susan is rockin her foster home already - it's an awesome feeling to have a big kitty arrive and start taking control of things immediately. (It just feels so natural.) And thank you to Heidi - have a good weekend, everyone! ^_^
