Loss of an eye doesn't impair Athena's happiness

Athena arrived at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue with quills in her face. She was lucky to move to ACT V Rescue and Rehabilitation for foster care and medical treatment. 

She lost her eye, but found an amazing dad who renamed her Abby!

Four small dogs need new homes

ABBY

Jeanette has been a friend of Red Lake Rosie’s for years and has volunteered for clinics, worked at the shelter, and has done many transports during that time. 

LITTLE MISS JET

 We send our condolences to Jeanette and her family on the recent loss of her sister, Regina.  Red Lake Rosie’s was honored to have the pleasure to take in 4 small breed dogs that were left when their guardian passed.

SPIKE

 The four including Buddy, Spike, Abby and Little Miss Jet arrived on Tuesday, February 26th and left on March 2nd for two great rescues into foster care.  Spike and Buddy went to Act V while Abby and Little Miss Jet went to St. Francis of Assissi.

 We enjoyed their company in the cathouse for the week, and are hopeful for great homes for all.  Thank you Jeanette for trusting us to place these four dear furballs!

ADOPTER UPDATE
To the wonderful people and animals of Red Lake Rosie's Rescue:

I am sending a donation to help with your terrific work on behalf of animals -- but I also want to share some photos of our sweet Ziva. She was originally from your organization, and came to us (via a foster home) in late July 2009.

Her sister, Abby came to our home two days later (from a foster family with MARS). They bonded with each other and with us, very quickly -- and we think we are giving them a good life.

We walk them twice a day, and they have a great time racing around our fenced backyard whenever they want to go out. They definitely keep me active!

Both dogs are playful and loving, and really add fun and warmth to our home.

Thank you for all the work you do for animals, and for the kindness and love you bring into their lives.

Giving thanks for sweaters

SWEATERS!We had a wonderful time with Laura and Ann who spent Thanksgiving weekend at RLRR. We finished the tarping, did lots of cleanup at the shelter, socialized dogs and pups, and got lots accomplished.

ABBY AND CHEETAHLaura brought more sweaters knitted by her mom, and we had a great time dressing up the dogs and pups.

SIMON BUMBLE BEEThe sweaters are not only warm and comfortable- they are very colorful and beautiful. The animals seemed to love the excitement and attention.

CHEETAHLaura and Ann left this morning with 7 dogs/pups on board including Cheetah, Estelle, Daisy, 3 Singing Chipmunks- Alvin, Theodore, and Simone, and Ada.

DAISYThey are all going to foster care, and our dear Daisy is going to Auntie Ruth's courtesy of Pet Haven for a while. Dee Dee was able to get the great placements for us.

LAURA AND ADAWe had a great and productive weekend, meeting Ann for the first time
and renewing our friendship with Laura. We had a blast!!

URGENT NEED for fosters/rescues to take puppies

Last night was probably a record-setting animal surrender night at Red Lake Rosie's, other than the clinics -- We took in 22 animals yesterday. Click here for more information on how you can help.

EMERGENCY PUPPY PENSThankfully Jodi and Barbara were here and together with the help of Mike we were able to erect new housing for the incoming animals. Everyone has been such hard workers.

BARBARA & JODIJodi and Barbara have cleaned out the cathouse and organized and cleaned everything. It looks wonderful!

Needless to day we have all dog kennels full to overflowing, and 16 cats in the cathouse.

We are thankful that Tricounty Humane Society, St. Cloud has responded so kindly and are taking the 2 large litters and Idgie as soon as we can get transport for them. But we need foster homes or rescue organizations to contact us to help the rest.

Perhaps the saddest story is that of Margo. She is a young small-breed dog and her litter of pups was attacked and killed by another dog. She is depressed and really needs some tlc.
