Weekend at Red Lake Rosie's

Not only did Lauren and Mike help at RLRR for the weekend and drive down a huge transport of animals, but they got stuck in the big traffic jam on Hwy 94 and the trip home (which is usually about six hours with stops) was extended by THREE MORE HOURS. OMG!!! Following is Lauren's account of the weekend.

This past weekend Mike and I went up to the shelter to help out and transport some animals back. We ended up transporting a little over 20 animals to the Twin Cities. It was an extremely long car ride home (because 94 was closed and we were detoured, which took an extra 3 hours!).CAT HOUSE PAINT JOBIn addition to socializing with all of the great animals up there, we started painting the cat house. We completed the front of the house, so the back will have to be finished by other volunteers this summer. The weather was perfect, so painting was a great project! We also used the new road that had just been completed and it was great! Smooth sailing all the way!

NEW ROADThank you to Karen and Mike W. for all you both do up at the shelter. And a big thank you to all of the transporters and fosters who were very patient with us when we arrived 3 hours late to drop off the animals. One more thank you to Act V Rescue, which took in Sheila, a young, sweet Shepard mix, who was left without a foster home when she arrived in the cities. It's great to see all of the animal rescue groups working together in order to help the many animals in need!
