Kaliga adopted

Remember poor Kaliga, the little pup that came in from Ponemah with severe demodex and starvation? Read his original blog post. At first he screamed in terror when I put my hand toward him, then turned out to be a total lovebug!
Thanks for to Jean and Carver Scott Humane Society for taking him into foster care and now he has found his forever home. Isn't he beautiful?

Thank you all! Karen
KALIGA AND HIS NEW FAMILY
UPDATE FROM JEAN:
Hi Karen, Kaliga was adopted by a wonderful couple today. The woman's grandmother also lives with them, and fell in love with Kaliga right away. I'll miss him, but, am soo happy that he'll have a family of his own now.

Thanks,
Jean

Suffering pup, Kaliga

Kaliga was the name given to this little demodex puppy that arrived on Friday September 20th.  His bald face was covered with bleeding sores and he cowered and would scream as I put my hand toward him.  Poor Kaliga was a real mess.  He was malnourished, dehydrated, his ribs were showing and his hip bones protruded.
KALIGA'S FACE COVERED WITH SORES
Thus began the effort to help this little guy who had many misfortunes in his short life. It did not take long for Kaliga to begin to blossom as his true personality began to shine.  Boy- he sure was a great little puppy!  As soon as he was well nourished and began to heal he made many friends at the RLRR shelter, both canine and human as well.  Every day I would sing to him “Poor old Kaliga, never had a kiss…” It was the Hank Willliams song from way back when.
KALIGA COWERING IN FEAR
Everyone who met Kaliga fell in love with this little guy.  Soon it was time for Kalilga to move on.  As the cold rains began, Jean Rice of Carver Scott Humane Society said she would like to take Kaliga in foster care. So, we sadly let go of this boy on Saturday, October 12th.  We only had the pleasure of this little guy’s company for 3 short weeks, but we hear that he is doing really well at Jean’s place.

FOSTER MOM JEAN WRITES:
Hi Karen, Kaliga is fitting in well. He's laying down by Maggie Mae (mama Ariel from Red Lake) and happily chewing on a bone. Maggie wants to lick the wound on his face, so, we keep having to shoo her away from him. Thanks soo much for sending the sweet boy to me.

FINAL NOTE FROM KAREN:
Best wishes to you little Kaliga!  You make rescue worth every bit of energy!  Thank you Jean for helping so many Red Lake animals!
