Gina's new life as Juno

Puppy Gina left Red Lake Rosie's Rescue to go to ARVSS for foster care. Her poor face was covered with mange then, but she is in her new home now with a new name (Juno) and a special new friend.

GINA BEFOREUPDATE FROM NEW FAMILY:
We are having an absolute blast with our new pooch! She is so smart and attentive, sweet and loving. I love coming home to her full body wag greeting me at the door. The house training has held up great - with only one accident early on before we learned her signs. She's totally mastered sit and down and we're starting to work on stay. She's just over 50 lbs now.

GINA/JUNO NOWI've attached some pics i took of her playing with one of her dog friends, Hokkaido. (Hokkaido is one of my best friend's dogs and lives a few blocks away, so they get to play a lot). We also love taking Juno to the dog park near our house where she enjoys running around and playing with whatever dog is there.

Well enough daydreaming about my dog, back to work now. I'll be in touch with more updates in the future.

Mike & Lauren's first visit of the new year

Mike and Lauren visited the shelter arriving on January 2 and riding out January 5 with eight dogs and puppies and four cats to the metro.

MIKE WATERING ANIMALSThey were very helpful during their stay helping after the snowstorms, clearing roofs, and caring for cats and dogs.

CHICOThey were able to make a rescue of one puppy left at the Redby dump and in a holding pen in Red Lake and two young cats at the Pound. They did some shopping for supplies and got the vehicles filled with gas. They also made a vet run as we had three neuter/spays and another dog that needed vaccinations.

We had a great time during their stay!

DONNIEBOSSThe cats Donnie and Boss went to Feline Rescue.

RIORio and Sabrina went to All Dog Rescue.

SABRINA

GABRIEL & GALENMARS took Galen and Gabriel as well as two pups from a litter of four.

Twin City Pet Rescue took the other two pups of the litter of four.

Thank you all.

LAUREN AND TWO OF FOUR PUPSNOTE FROM LAUREN:
Mike and I went up to help Karen out at the shelter for a few days. It was outrageously cold - for chores one morning, it was -28 degrees! But we bundled up and were just fine once we started working.

DIAMOND
BOOTSIEThere are tons of great cats up at the shelter. I attached a few pics of some. We took home Chico and Rosie to foster through Pet Haven. These little ones had been left in an abandoned home after a family moved.

GINAWe also picked up a little dog named Gina, who has mange all over her face. She looked so pitiful and must have been so cold outside! She is very friendly and sweet, though.

While up at the shelter, we noticed a few supplies that Karen still needs: Rubber pales/buckets with handles, dry kitten and cat food, canned cat and dog food, and smaller scratching posts for cats.

We loaded up my Honda Accord and packed in eight pups and four cats. Rio sat on my lap the whole way back and was a terrific rider. We're so glad these little ones get to go down to the Twin Cities and get warm, loving places to stay.

May 2 transport

We are very happy to report that on May 2nd Barbara of Minneaplis drove all the way to Bemidji to meet me to take out 12 animals to various rescues. We sent out Chessy, a heartworm positive shep to Pet Haven and they are going to treat her. We are so thankful to them.
CHESSY Also on board was Windi who went to Second Chance Dogs in St. Paul. She is a great dog, too.
WINDIThe puppies that went were a litter of 2 sheps named Gina & Georgie Girl and Charlie Brown who were surrendered at the clinic. They were not in good shape and could have died, but thankfully are on the mend at Caring Hands.
GINA & GEORGIE GIRLWe also sent a litter of 3 shep pups which I did not get a pic of and they are at Pet Projects.

We also sent the 4 little kitties to Barbara fostering for Pet Haven.

I usually try not to get too attached, however, Charlie Brown stole my heart, and he was the boss at the shelter all week- He is sadly missed.
CHARLIE BROWN
Thank you to all for your help in getting all these great animals hope for a forever home.

Sincerely, Karen
