Elsa and her icy pups revisited

Elsa and her icy pups were rescued by Red Lake Rosie's Rescue just after Christmas 2013. Elsa had her nine pups under a porch on the ice and snow. Even once we got there, it took an hour to chip away the ice to get them out of there. Amazingly only one newborn pup had died, the other eight survived. There were four boys (Cash, Carter, Chace, Champ) and four girls (Hope, Serenity, Grace, Faith).

Once Elsa had protection from the weather in an enclosed kennel with deep straw and fleece blankets and plenty of nutritious food and fresh water, she was a fantastic mother producing lots of milk and caring tenderly for her pups. Once they could be weaned, the family was taken in by All Dog Rescue for foster care. Linda, who has fostered so many pups from RLRR, took in all eight pups.

We were so happy to hear that Elsa and all of her pups have been adopted!

Smokey finds a home and other updates

Smokey was the small dog who left the clinic with All Dog Rescue and he has been adopted!! See his pic when he was at the shelter. Bye Karen

CARTER & SMOKEYNOTE FROM ALL DOG RESCUE:

Hi, Karen;

Smokey was adopted almost right away by a family who has another young chihuahua for him to play with. Canine/Carson is doing great in his foster home - we've only had one application for him but it wasn't right for him so we turned it down - but his foster mom really loves him so he is just fine!

I believe Kelly/Aurora is going in to get another heartworm test either today or tomorrow; if there are no baby heartworms in her blood then I believe they consider the treatment to be done and we can put her up on the web for adoption. I haven't talked to her foster mom recently - I'm assuming she is doing well or I'm sure I would have heard about it by now!

Transport before clinic

We try to clear out the kennels at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue before a clinic, because there are always animals surrendered at the clinics and we need to make space for them. We had a nearly epic transport on May 23.

THREE OF SEVENFOUR OF SEVENDear Denise:

We had a major four-legged tranport in more ways than one.

LITTER OF TENONE OF THE TENThirty-one dogs, puppies and cats went on a journey to various rescues.

CARTER AND SMOKYKaren transported to Bemidji and met Tom and Nancy O'Sullivan and Geri Wainscott who drove on to Motley. There they met Barbara Olson who transported to Dee Dee Welles who transported them to St. Francis of Assissi, Pet Projects, Animal Ark, Pet Haven, ARVSS, and RLRR Petfinder foster homes in Rogers, MN.

JANIE AND JUDYVICTOR AND VINCENTWe are thankful to all the transporters and receiving shelters and groups who helped all these animals get the chance for a real home.

LULUAlso thank you to Tricounty for taking Goliath, Copper, and Olivia, 3 fully vetted, adoption ready cats.

Sincerely, Karen Good and RLRR
