One-year anniversary for Isaac in his new home

Isaac came to Red Lake Rosie's rescue in September of 2012 as a badly injured 5-month-old pup with a lot of spunk and good looks to spare. He moved on to medical care and foster care with ACT V Rescue and Rehabilitation for seven months before he found the right home. Search for "isaac" to read several earlier posts about him.
UPDATE FROM ACT V:
Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the adoption of Isaac..!
This family saw his potential, bonded with him, and helped him become a good canine citizen.
Here is what mom and dad emailed us:
"Hello!
Today marks the one-year anniversary of adopting Isaac, the smart and energetic malamute/collie mix. He has been an awesome addition to our family. He has been through a lot in the last year! We completed basic obedience training, private training, and are beginning next-level obedience soon. He experienced a move to a new town, and a couple of road trips. He has kept his curious and fun personality while making great strides behaviorally. He has 2 close dog friends he can run with at the park! Thank you so much for bringing us together and for the hard work you are constantly doing for all the animals at Act V. Take care!"

Happy Anniversary, A & J and Isaac!
It's these kind of updates that keep us going and give purpose to our work.

Isaac finds his family!

ACT V IS HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE:
We had Isaac for seven months and finally found him the right home with a great couple!
Isn't he beautiful?!
Check out the giant rawhide!
His surgically repaired hips are growing stronger and getting fur.
Isaac is looking to the future.
Isaac has quite a fan club among the Red Lake Rosie's Rescue supporters. I hope his new family and Act V keep us updated on his progress :-)

Irresistible Isaac

Remember Isaac who was found near the dump by Avis and required surgery to repair his injured hip? He is recovering well and has started hydrotherapy.
He is also learning about love and manners in his foster home.

UPDATES FROM ACT V:
Hi Karen.
Thought you might like some pictures. Isaac is doing great. Everybody loves him so much!
Thanks, Carolyn (ACT V Rescue)

Now doesn't this just warm your heart...! Sent in from his foster mom, Isaac is relaxing on mom's bed before she goes to work. Isaac loves his Golden foster buddy and they get a little chill time before the day starts. How nice...

Can you keep up with Isaac?

Isaac is a beautiful husky pup that was found in the woods adjoining the Redby dump and brought to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue by friend of the animals, Avis. He was very thin, had a deep wound in his back and his femur was broken.
Thankfully, ACT V Rescue & Rehabilitation was willing to take him. He had a femoral head osteotomy and is recovering well.
He is ready to find a home now, but will require an owner that has time to exercise him properly. He loves everyone, but would do best in a home without cats :-)
If you are interested in learning more about Isaac, please email info@actvrescue.org.

Avis, the rescuer

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue is happy that we have a friend and partner in rescue in Redby at the center of the Red Lake Reservation and location of our clinics.

AVISWe often get a call from Avis as she finds many animals in distress, many at the local garbage dump. Avis just cannot turn her back on the animals she finds, from orphan geese, to puppies, dogs, cats and kittens of all sizes.

GOOSEYShe has rescued about 100 animals in the past 5 years. She is a model pet owner who has her own little tribe of dogs and cats who are all well cared for and loved. We appreciate her so much.

MANDYAvis rescued Mandy, a salt and pepper husky shep at the Redby dump in May. Mandy went on to Tricounty and she got adopted by a nice man with a 32 acre fenced in area. She is very healthy and happy thanks to Avis.

ISAACMost recently, she called about a little 5 month old husky mix we named Isaac. He was found in the woods adjoining the Redby dump. He has a broken pelvis, dislocated hip, a back wound and malnutrition. In spite of that he crookedly runs around like a little hurricane.

Thankfully, he will go to the care of Dr. Vickie of Act V who we hope can help this little boy walk normally again.

Sincerely, Karen
