During a transport of animals from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue to the Twin Cities last week, sweet Sammy pulled on the leash too hard, knocked over our beloved volunteer, Nancy O'Sullivan, and she broke her hip!!

SAMMY |
Jenny Fitzer explained, "This is Sammy, the dog that broke Nancy. He is very sorry. Sammy's really nice, but he weighs 105 pounds and doesn't know his own strength."
|
NANCY |
Nancy and her husband Tom volunteer their time to help the animals of RLRR and Leech Lake Legacy in the Bemidji area. They regularly help with the weekly transports and they have hauled and unloaded supplies and helped at the shelter countless times. She is also on the board of directors for RLRR.

TOM & NANCY |
Nancy forgives Sammy, of course, and probably won't be walking dogs that might weigh more than she does any more. She has had surgery to repair her hip and has begun her long recovery with pain and therapy.
Please send kind thoughts and prayers to her and Tom, who also hasn't been feeling well:
