Lucy: Portrait of Abuse

Here is poor Lucy the starving pit bull--she has been so abused and is so nice.

PORTRAIT OF ABUSEHer head is oddly shaped and badly scarred from beatings---poor girl-- she is one of the most abused animals we have seen. She also suffers from a severe case of adult rickets from long term starvation.

STARVING LUCYShe came in last week with her two tiny suviving pups from her litter. She is so fortunate to be going to a foster home for a pit bull rescue!!

Karen :(

LUCY'S PUPSFROM LAURA WHO WAS ON THE TRANSPORT:
Hi-this warms my heart. Of all the dogs transported yesterday Lucy is the luckiest to get out. Thanks Dee Dee for finding this new much needed pit rescue. Lucy is in fabulous hands with Kellie.

FROM LUCY'S FOSTER MOM:

This momma is honestly the sweetest thing emotionally, truly not a reflection of the pain, scars and wounds that plague her physically.

She is such a good momma to the puppies, takes care of them so well. We washed her up last night (it was a loooong bath and she wasn't too fond of it, but I think enjoyed the oatmeal massage).

She sat with my fiance and I throughout the night, just snuggling and getting a ton of love...it is amazing how much love this little girl has to give!

I just got her some really high quality no grain food and we got some really good wet food donated, we hope to get her into the vet next week so we can see about supplements for the rickets.

Thanks Karen, Laura and DeeDee for getting her out of her bad situation and transporting her here so she can heal physically and find her perfect, loving forever home!

LUCY'S LITTLE ANGELSHave a wonderful weekend and thanks again for what you did for this girl and her little pups!

I hope that there are no other animals in the "home" that Lucy came from. Will her abusers face prosecution?
Thank you for getting her out of that horrible situation.

If we could get someone to testify that they witnessed the beatings to Lucy, we could get prosecution. That's hard around here because ppl are afraid of retaliation. We also need the support of our local police force and animal control (DNR), which we don't have. Meanwhile, I'm so happy Lucy got out. Even those who end up needing to be euthanized -- at least they were safe and warm for a while and fed a good meal. Thank you to everyone who saved Lucy!

I'm so glad that Lucy is out of her abusive home and on to a caring, loving place. I hope she and her babies find their forever home soon. In the meantime, it sounds like she's won the foster care lottery.

I hope that whoever did those horrible things to her faces severe prosecution.

Hi All,

Zeebe wanted to say Merry Christmas!! She got a bone and a new stuffed toy in her stocking this year. =) She was over joyed! She is however not enjoying all the snow we got in the past two days... good thing her foster dad knows that and is keeping the plowing up so she doesn't have to walk in it, Spoiled. ;o)
Hope all is well.
