Svetlana's pink palace

Svetlana was actually the first of the Russian Circus Troupe kittens to be adopted. I think she was a little relieved to get away from her four crazy brothers. Her new name is Moxie and it describes her well. She now is loved by a girl and her family and is trying to make friends with the family beagle. Her next challenge will be to learn sign language to keep up with the dog and communicate better with her deaf family.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Our dog, a beagle, is 4 years old. He allowed our previous cat (Foxy) to play with him and both of them got along really well. Sadly, Foxy has passed away, so we are looking for a kitten (indoor). The kitten that I found online is Svetlana with the pink collar. We would love to adopt another Korat cat like Foxy. We adopted Foxy from Chicago where my brother-in-law found her in an empty house. We took her and cared for her for 17 years.

MOXIE'S NEW GIRLUPDATE AFTER ADOPTION:
She's doing good! She still has not settled in with our dog . She gets angry when the dog appoaches or comes near her. Our dog looks scared when she hisses at him. He is respectful and stays away from her until she gets used to him. We already took some pixs, and we will send them to you soon. Our daugther was so happy to have her! Thanks for letting us adopt Moxie (Svetlana).

Here's a clear and simple overview of the Official Rules, which govern your participation in the Chase Community Giving Program and can be found below this summary.
1. Program Overview
o Round 1: From Nov. 15, 2009 to Dec. 11, 2009, Facebook users can vote for any Charity that is part of the Chase Community Giving application. The 100 eligible Charities receiving the most votes during this period will be considered the top vote-getters of Round 1.
o Round 2: Each of the 100 Charities that make it to Round 2 will have the opportunity to submit an explanation of how it would use a $1,000,000 donation from Chase. From Jan. 15, 2010 to Jan. 22, 2010, participants may vote for any of the eligible Round 2 Charities through the Chase Community Giving application. The eligible Charity receiving the most votes in Round 2 will be the Program's top vote-getter.
2. Participating and Voting
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE OR VOTE. Each participant can vote once per round for an individual Charity but can vote for a total of 20 Charities during Round 1 and a total of 5 Charities during Round 2, per e-mail account and name. Any unused votes from Round 1 will not be available for use in Round 2. In order to vote, participants must access the Chase Community Giving application and follow any subsequent instructions.
3. Donations
Chase will make a total of $5,000,000 in donations:
o Round 1: Chase will donate $25,000 to each of the 100 Charities receiving the most votes in Round 1, provided all eligibility requirements and standards have been met. Those Charities will be announced on the Chase Community Giving Page, as well as through the Chase Community Giving application on or about 12/15/09.
o Round 2: Chase will donate $1,000,000 to the Round 2 Charity receiving the most votes and will donate $100,000 to the five runners up, provided all eligibility requirements and standards have been met. Those Charities will be announced on the Chase Community Giving Page, as well as through the Chase Community Giving application on or about 02/01/10.
o The Chase Community Giving Advisory Board will select one or more nominated Charities to receive donations with a combined total of $1,000,000. The chosen Charities will be announced on February 8, 2010.
4. Charity Eligibility
Eligible charities must be 501(c)(3) organizations with an operating budget of under $10 million, and must meet the other listed requirements. A Charity that, by itself or through an affiliated entity, discriminates on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, medical condition, citizenship, ancestry or marital status is not eligible. Complete eligibility requirements for charities can be found in the Official Rules.

The ABE! Fund

The ABE! Fund honors the memory of ABE!, a 10 year-old Clumber Spaniel who died in 2009 of stomach cancer. ABE! was a true officer and a gentleman of the Clumber community. Nothing delighted ABE! more than lowering his massive soft head to prowl beneath bushes or bramble. Although he did not truly hunt as Clumbers were bred to do, ABE! was a great pretender.
At home, he was seldom without a squeaking stuffed “baby” in his mouth, moaning with delight when presented with a new one. His intense snoring was legendary. His posterior wiggled to almost a “U” when greeting at the door or in the park.

From the tender age of two, ABE! became a champion fund-raiser. During the Christmas holidays, guests poured into his home with needed supplies and $$$ for a different designated shelter each year. Learning of Red Lake Rosie's toward the end of his life, ABE! and his friends raised $1000 to send to Rosie's in Minnesota. This good work will now continue.

Started by friends of ABE!’s, the ABE! perpetual fund will support seasonal needs such as straw for winter bedding, special projects, and the year round need for medical supplies, especially vaccines and antibiotics.

The ABE! fund has raised about $1400 in cash and several hundred $$ in donations - hand-sewn fleece blankets, dog toys, laundry detergent, dish detergent, paper towels, crates, etc.

ABE! and all his many friends are honored to be Rosie's first dedicated fund to aid in the health and well-being of the dogs at Red Lake Rosie's.

Katya: Russian princess

The Russian Circus Troupe kittens have begun to find their homes. Katya discovered that she is really a princess!

Hi T~

I just wanted to thank you for all of your assistance in my search for a kitten! This experience has been wonderful!

Even though I was sad to hear that Svetlana had already been adopted, we did adopt her sister, Katya, on Saturday! Katya is precious and seems to be loving her new home. She's getting brave and venturing out more and more throughout the house. She is just a doll and my daughter absolutely LOVES her!! She (my daughter) cried when we brought Katya home and now thinks it's all a dream. LOL! She's even kept Katya's name.

Foster moms were wonderful as well! They gave us some great information and tips on making Katya's transition less stressful! They definitely deserve some kudos!!

Please know that if I hear of anyone looking to adopt an animal, I will definitely refer them to Red Lake Rosie! You have an awesome bunch of dedicated people working there and I'm proud to have been given the chance to make a difference in Katya's life!

AND A NOTE TO FOSTER MOMS:
Yes, Katya is adjusting very well! She’s no longer that shy reserved kitten anymore. She doesn’t walk anywhere, she RUNS!! For as little as she is she sounds like a herd of elephants running up/down the stairs. When she’s tired, you pet her and she almost instantly goes to sleep. It’s like mesmerizing to her! LOL!

She is now freely roaming the whole entire house (as of Wednesday night). In fact we hadn’t even introduced her to the basement yet but found her sleeping on the heated floor in the basement bathroom on Wednesday night! She’s certainly not stupid! LOL!

She also LOVES LOVES LOVES her new mommy! As you can see from the pics, she is very comfortable with my daughter. When K goes outside to play, Katya runs around the house looking for her and follows her almost everywhere! She has also taken up with a White Tiger stuffed animal (it’s actually bigger than her!) She pounces on it, bites it and plays with it every day. It’s the funniest thing to watch!

She is a very good little girl and I’m pretty sure she loves her new home as well! She definitely keeps us laughing! I’ll keep you updated with more pics soon.

Mega-transport November 15

We had a giant transport on Sunday November 15 with a total of 3 dogs, 30 puppies and l kitten.

These animals were primarily surrenders at the November clinic so we were overrun and very happy that they all got foster care except for 3 puppies who went to Northwoods Humane Society and Ollie, juvenile vetted shephard who went to Tricounty Humane Society.

SHANIALots of rescues stepped forward and took the puppies, so we are very pleased and grateful.

ABE! DONATIONSDee Dee and Kristen came in Saturday with a load of gifts from the ABE! Fund out of Chicago in memory of a dog named Abe.

Also- much to our surprise we got the 2009 Chevrolet van delivered to the shelter with our beautiful logo painted on it!!

I found out that there were people in the metro who donated to get the logo put on and I want to thank you very much for this. It is BEAUTIFUL.

FLUFFYWe spent the day with Dee Dee, Kristin, Alex and Pat putting tarps on kennels and Dee Dee and Kristin worked through late night cleaning in the cathouse.

ZORROThank you to all the volunteers, donors, and receiving rescues/shelters in behalf of Red Lake animals.

THIRTY PUPS IN ALL!

Meeko: Mom to the Russian Circus kittens

After we transported the Russian Circus Troupe kittens to foster care, I found out that their mother, who had been found with them at the dump, was also at Karen's looking for foster care. Meeko was spayed at the November clinic and then moved down to the cities. She was adopted within a week by a wonderful young couple referred to me by a friend. Thanks, Marina!

DAY ONE:
Meeko has been doing great. Last night she spent most of the time under our bed but then I woke up during the night to find her asleep with us. Amanda and I both have the day off today and Meeko has been enjoying exploring our apartment and playing with the toys, she really loves those. She's also been eating her dry food, drinking water, and used the litter box so it seems that she's doing very well!

DAY TWO:
Oh she's doing great! She's been using the litter box no problem, and eating consistently. She REALLY loves the toys you sent with and has become very accustomed to the chair I keep at my desk, it seems to be her favorite part of the apartment. She's very social and hasn't returned to under the bed since the first evening, she also sleeps on our bed with us at night. We're so happy to have her and feel it's a perfect match! I've attached a couple pictures that we've taken of her. Thank you so much!
