NOTE TO KAREN--
I just wanted to update you about Walker (fka Warrior). He is mending wonderfully. The bandages came off this past Monday and his rear leg looked so bad, but it looks so much better now. He is getting stitches out on Thursday.
I also wanted to tell you he had found his forever home. A very nice young man came to our adoption event yesterday to meet Lacey. She is too laid back for what he was looking for so I mentioned Walker. He said he really wanted to meet him so he came to my house today and is committed to adopting him as soon as the vet clears Walker medically.
I am hoping that by next weekend he will be in his forever home. Lacey is also being adopted this week as long as she gets along with the other dog in the home which we will know about later this week. We're all so happy that Walker will not have to lose his leg and both dogs have found new homes!

Notes from RLRR Metro Support Team meeting
NOTES FROM THE RLRR 4/27 MEETING
Lynn reported on the Pet Expo. RLRR received $245 in donations and $375 from the sale of totes, potholders, and dog bones.
DeeDee reported that 106 animals were altered at the AHS clinic at Rosie’s along with two emergency surgeries. Twenty-seven animals were surrendered or brought in as strays. Heartworm-positive dogs continue to be an expensive problem.
Colleen’s Cheyenne River trip was postponed.
We discussed the need for volunteers for the May Clinic (May 28-30). Since this is a larger clinic, we will need about 3-4 volunteers a day to support it. Clean-up day (Sunday), especially, requires a lot of work. We need food donations, as well. We will be feeding roughly 22 people daily.
The foster/adoption network has been very busy with applications for puppies. Almost all of the puppies that we have taken in to our RLRR network have been adopted or are in process.
We need volunteers who are willing to do home visits to ensure that the puppies are going to appropriate environments.
We need more foster homes, too. Right now, we have four.
Liz spoke about the possibility of doing adoption days at Chuck and Don’s in Elk River.
We discussed fundraising options such as a dinner/auction. There was discussion about having a garage sale at the end of summer or early Fall.
We will need a transport in about two weeks.

I took photos of Max, the shepherd mix, who came from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue to Pet Haven last weekend. 
This boy is very sweet and very calm. Nothing seemed to really phase him. He was not a tugger and sat quietly and calmly as I took photos. He has gorgeous eyes and a very gentle disposition. He does not appear to be at all high energy.
Max is going to be fostered by Laura L who does wonders with all our foster dogs!! Laura get ready to fall in love ;-)

Follow Warrior's progress at All Dog Rescue
All Dog Rescue has a new blog and right now they are following the progress of Warrior, a puppy from RLRR that had been attacked by three dogs and left for dead. His new name is Walker and he is making steady progress. Amazingly his personality is still loving and trusting.

Four little sweethearts
We will have a transport on May 2 and these lovely little kittens are going to foster care for Pet Haven at Barbara Bowman's home. They arrived at the clinic as surrenders last week and were very unsocial.
They are getting better and I am sure in Barbara's care they will blossom into wonderful cats!

Isis finds a home in no time
It didn't take Isis long to steal someone's heart and get adopted.
She was surrendered at the clinic last week and went with Dee Dee to our Red Lake Rosie's foster home. Now she has already found her forever home!
