Snow at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue

One of the main challenges we have in the winter here at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue is the removal of snow both from the shelter yard, the roads, and the roofs on the many buildings. Most recently we got 12 - 14 inches of snow and that had to be removed several times over the course of 3 days.

Thankfully we have the Bobcat and the snow plow for clearing the roads and shelter yard. Kevin in very skilled at swapping out Bobcat attachments and using each one.

Dan was a big help also in helping with removing the snow from the roofs. The main worry is the dome-shaped cat house. Domes are particularly vulnerable to collapse from snow. There are also 2 flat roofs and 10 kennels with roofs that need snow removal. It was no problem for Dan to climb and walk on the roof without worry of falling. We also have 2 roof rakes which have been donated and are very useful.

We have all the tools we need and, lately, all the kindhearted help as well.
WOLFMAN JACK
The dogs seem to enjoy the snow, but not as much as Wolfman Jack, who prefers to lay in the snow rather than go to the many optional shelters he has.
