Cody: Caustic liquid burned puppy's feet & tail :-(

Cody was brought to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue in mid-August. The poor puppy had been sitting in some kind of caustic liquid which took the hair off his hind feet and tip of his tail. His feet are infected and very painful. He also has slight rickets on the front legs from poor nutrition, so he walks with a wobble.

Cody immediately got a bath to rid him of the caustic liquid and he was given pain medication. He is just 5 1/2 lbs. :-( We are so grateful that ACT V Rescue & Rehabilitation is able to take him in for further care!

Sept. 10: Cody has now entered into the training phase of life. :-) He has transitioned to a new foster home to facilitate some behavior modification. His foster mom is Kristy Francis, CTC (of the soon-to-be Kristy Francis Dog Training). She is a fellow graduate of The Academy for Dog Trainers .His feet and tail are healing (physically), but he hasn't fallen in love with body-handling (yet.) :-)

Update from Coco's Heart

Just wanted to send you an update from the pooches this weekend.

PAPOOSE

Papoose is doing great! He is a bundle of energy!

SABRINA

Sabrina went to the vet today and had an ultrasound- the vet said she is not pregnant. She is a doll.

DENVER (CODY)

Denver aka Cody is adorable and catching on very quickly with home-life. He is going potty outside already- both Paddy and Denver caught on to potty training very quickly. He is a social pup that loves to be held. He is enjoying playtime with the "big boys" (my dogs). He goes to the vet tomorrow.

I have included a picture I took of Paddy and Denver last night. Denver's jacket is a little snug. They were very good and let me pester them to get this picture. They are so wonderful. I will cry when Paddy is adopted. He has a meet'n'greet with a family tomorrow night.

Lulu

LULU IS ADOPTED: Hi-I just talked to Lulu's new mom who absolutely loves her. She is lives by Lake Harriet with lots of time to fuss over Lulu. They have been going for one mile walks everyday.

P. has had Cavaliers before but having a 35lb mix is a bit of a change. But Lulu has already won her heart and a spot on P's bed. So Lulu has gone from being chained to a tree all of her life to being a pampered lap dog.

N, thanks for watching over her while she went through treatment.
And then for fostering her. P says you can come by and see her anytime. She also will be bringing her to BVH so maybe you can see her then. Thanks Karen for rescuing her. L

I transported 20 puppies and dogs. I was amazed at how Karen can plan and fit all the crates to maximize the space! I dropped off two sweet dogs (Cody and Evelyn) at Tri-County Humane Society.

I pulled over in Clearwater to take Endora out of her crate because I dearly needed a puppy fix. She was the pup that was brought in with the stab wound to her chest. She had been stitched up and healed nicely. I put her in my lap, she looked up at me a few times, then promptly fell asleep and didn't stir until we arrived home. Endora, Spice, Faith and her eight pups all went to Pet Projects Rescue.

Linda and Gary from Animal Ark were waiting with the van as I pulled up. We transferred all the crates to the van and they were on their way. Angelica and her pups had been found living in a van and starving. Only four of her eight pups survived. Etta also went to Animal Ark.

Sonja from All-Dog Rescue wasn't there to pick up Wilma yet, so I took her in my fenced-in back yard to stretch her legs. She popped out of the crate, jumped around happily in the snow, then went and did her "business." She had kept her kennel clean the whole drive. She was a little black and brown dog, and Karen had said she was very frightened. She didn't appear scared at all in the yard - just happily sniffing around, bouncing in the snow. She kept running back to me. Sonja arrived in a few minutes, and I handed off my new favorite! She has a pomerian/pug who she thought would enjoy playing with Wilma.It's so satisfying to do this work for Red Lake Rosie's. I'm grateful to be involved with such a dedicated group.
