Bella & Maya: Both RLRR dogs!

Two years ago, Bella (formerly Goldie, on the right) was rescued by Red Lake Rosie's and then moved on to All Dog Rescue, where she was adopted to her forever home. She quickly became friends with the two cats in the household.

About a year later, the family decided it was time for another dog and adopted Maya. Goldie and Maya quickly became the best of friends. Maya also came from RLRR via All Dog Rescue!

The family really loves these two and is grateful to the organizations that brought them into their lives.

See the original post about Bella's adoption here:

Goldie/Bella finds a home and her smile :-)

GOLDIE/BELLA (center) AND FRIENDS
I was so happy to receive a call from a lady named Krissy with updates on a dog we named Goldie last summer. This little girl came to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue with a Housing employee who said that the people where he found Goldie did not want her. She came very hungry and dehydrated and scared. It is wonderful news to see how her life has changed now!

Thank you, Dale and Krissy and all our supporters who make this possible for Goldie, now Bella. All Dog Rescue took her and found this great home for her!

UPDATE FROM ADOPTERS:
We had lost our beloved dog Daisy July of 2014. I knew we were eventually going to get another. We were thinking of the following spring or summer. We happened to be out shopping for a birthday card when we came upon the adoption day at Petco in Eden Prairie. My husband said, "You don't want to look at those dogs over there do you?"

That was the beginning. I saw Bella and she was so cute just sitting there with her foster mother. It was love at first sight. Then I remembered my cats. Thank God she said that Bella did like cats.

Then she told me that Bella did have lyme disease. Well, I was already in love with her. And I researched lyme disease and it's not a death sentence. It's actually not that big of a deal. Like a cold, sometimes you have symptom, sometimes you don't. They treat with antibiotics.

We have had her a little over a year now. She so sweet. She loves her sisters, the cats Poozie and Princess. She actually licks them real gentle. Loves people and other dogs. She goes to the dog park every weekend. And gets two walks a day. We are so happy with our Bella.

Zoe Bella

NOTE FROM ADOPTER:
My name is Kayla and I live in St. Cloud, MN, and this is Bella, she turned six years old this month. My place of employment adopted her from the Tri County Humane Society as Zoe back in June 2009 and renamed her Bella, but she didn't work out so I brought her home November 2009.

BELLA (formerly Zoe)
According to her paperwork, she originally came from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. I thought you might like to see she is happy and well! This was taken at the lake this last summer. She was not a fan of water in the beginning but over the years has learned to enjoy it especially with her tennis ball!

She brings me so much joy and I could not imagine life without her -- Thank you!

Bella Annabelle

I am so happy that Annabelle, a dog that came to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue with a chain horrifyingly embedded in her neck, has fully recovered and was adopted on October 4th! (See her previous post here.) She has a GREAT home and will never be chained again!

Karen

FOSTER MOM UPDATE:
The doggie with the chain embedded in her neck - found a fabulous home today. I did the home visit with the newer foster. Two very respectful girls. They have a 10-year old small black lab mix (rescue) AND a beautiful, large house with a huge fenced-in yard and a man-made creek and lots and lots of trees. Mom and dad have a couple days vacation and have already been taking her in the car with them everywhere.

Her new name will be Bella - and I think she found the jackpot~

Bella (Mya) update

Mya (center) with her new BFF's, Sage and Minna.

Mya and Minna hanging out in the house and keeping a watch out.

Mya and Minna hanging out in the house and keeping a watch out.Mya (Bella) is doing great in her new home. I was so shocked to see how much she has grown!!! She is no longer the tiny puppy I watched after a couple months ago. She is growing super fast and is up to 35 pounds and already as tall as Sage. Mya is still every ounce a puppy, but she is learning from her BFF's what she can and cannot do. Minna will actually take away things she is not suppose to play with like shoes and kids toys.

Shana finds a new home as Bella

CRYSTAL LOVES SHANASHANA LOVES CRYSTALUPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM CRYSTAL:
Our little Shanna Girl has gone home to live with L&J in Lakeville.

GOODBYE SHANASHANA'S NEW FAMILY & AN OLD FRIENDThere was an obvious natural bond when they came to meet Shanna last week. I went for a home visit, and they came to pick up Shanna today.

SHANA & SHOESI packed up her favorite toys, most were gifts from Jenny, and, although I offered to send her extensive shoe collection, they declined the gift.

SHANA IS GONEShe came weighing 15.5 pounds and left weighing thirty-two. I predict that our girl will have a great life.

Spice Girl Bella

A very happy ending for a special needs dog from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue!

UPDATE ON SPICE GIRL FROM HER PET HAVEN ADOPTERS:
Spice Girl's name has been officially changed to Bella! She is the epitome of her name, Beautiful. She is such a gentle and affectionate dog, seemingly content to just be loved. Her needs are so simple. She has met grandmas, neighbors, friends, and other four legged friends and has charmed them all!

As time passes, Bella is becoming more outgoing and fun-loving. She enjoys our resident golden retriever, and he has figured out she is here to stay. The first week we monitored her physical activity as to not over-tax her remaining back leg, but now she has figured out how much romping around in the back yard she can do. Recently, she put the Boxer in her to the test and pinned Charlie, our golden. It is odd that he seems to know to play gentle. Don't worry, Ann S. we won't over do it, but I think she is being the healthy puppy she has never had the opportunity to be. Ann G., You did an excellent job of nursing her back to health, and now we get to see the healthy, youthful Bella!

As far as Bella's hearing loss, it really helps having a hearing dog to guide her and keep her up to date on the goings on around the house, although come to think of it, she is never far away from us! Our vet thinks the hearing loss is due to hair growing on the vibrating part of her inner ear. Apparently it is genetic and not uncommon. Bella is able to hear very loud or high pitched noises. I am teaching her a few signs, and she is catching on fast as she is quite smart! We plan on doing obedience school in the Fall.

Dr. Doolittle and his transport

Here's a pic of Mike aka Dr. Doolittle!! He has a special way with all the animals. This was his first transport and he was very excited about it. We still don't know how he got 13 animals in his little compact car! (Bella and her pups, Salena and seven cats)
Salena
Louise & Benson

There are also pics of Salena and the cats Mia, Louise and Benson(orange one in background), and Manny with his little bobtail who were on the transport Friday with Mike. We had some great cats that were placed. All neutered/spayed and had their shots. They were all friendly and well socialized thanks to Mike and Sarah.
