This is what training with Wendy van Kerkhove of Fresh Air Training looks like when she's done with you. The brain is still processing, but the body needs a rest. :-)

Girl/Noelle is adopted!

Wonderful news from Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue! The beautiful Girl, now known as Noelle, and two other gorgeous little horses, Sophia and Cinnamon, have been adopted and will be heading for their new home in Colorado at the end of this month.

According to Triple H: "Dry lot ready and lots of luvin' waiting!"

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue would like to express their gratitude again to Triple H for taking in Girl/Noelle this winter when she was injured and to Deb Fjetland and her husband for helping to make the arrangements and for their help with the transport.

Look at how proudly she stands! I hope the new family sends photos of the three beauties in their new home!!

Girl/Noelle will bid farewell to some friends at Triple H, but we wish her all the best!

Phoenix received a gift box! He is a lucky pup.

He's at home hanging out. He worked with Wendy today, he also worked with the clinic staff and met a few dogs. Big day for a little guy.

What we've been taught is that 'dogs do what works'.
Phoenix is learning that the resident dog gets a morsel when she stands next to the dishwasher... so why not stand there too? :-)

He spent the day getting a plan in place for his next surgery. Not EVERYone gets three surgical consults.
For now, regular puppy...

UPDATE FROM ACT V:

Well, we bring you this post a little early tonight.
Nothing new to report and we have not heard from the surgeons as of yet.

Phoenix is facing many medical and surgical procedures.
Therefore, we brought Wendy vanKerkhove, CTC on board to help us out.
Wendy is a graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers (www.academyfordogtrainers.com) and owner of Fresh Air Training. (www.freshairtraining.com)

She will work with Phoenix on body handling, introduction to, (and) handling by strangers, and help him have positive associations with Veterinarian clinics and staff. She will also help him tolerate his cone and body suit.

Phoenix is just a puppy, and we want him to succeed in his future. Wendy will help us achieve this goal, and we are very thankful.

Gentle Spirit is home

Poor Spirit arrived at Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue on December 21st from Ponemah. Paul drove a long ways to the RLRR shelter one cold night with the poor dog who was raw and bleeding under the neck. The owner supposed he had been shot. We named the pit bull/shepherd mix "Spirit", because, in spite of his problems, this boy had lots of spirit!

He had lived outdoors all winter with hardly any hair! He suffered a long time and never complained about it. He acted happy.

We took Spirit to the vet the next morning and had him treated . We found out he had a bad case of bleeding demodex mange and had not been shot at all. His skin was bleeding and badly infected. So we began the mange treatment with ivermectin and oral antibiotics.

Since it was cold out, this would compound the problem of healing the skin.

We made a plea to ARVSS and Matt & Susie willingly took Spirit into a warm environment and began working with him. He left the Red Lake Rosie’s shelter on the first of the New Year. It was going to be a new life for Spirit now.

We are so thankful to ARVSS for taking this boy and giving him help and are anxious to see how he turned out when they worked their magic on him!
