Nodin's pups in new homes

Three of the "porch puppies" have reported in to their former foster mom, Linda:

NODIN'S PUP REBA / SOPHIE

Sophie is doing really well! We just took her to the vet to get her 2nd set of shots and she weighs in at 19.2lbs today! So she is growing really well and she is going to be a big girl. haha

She also has met a lot of people already and made some doggie friends. We are starting puppy school in the first week of June so that should be fun. =)

I also attached some recent photos of Sophie in this email. Her next vet visit isn't until middle of June, so we'll see how big she will be by then.

NODIN'S PUP RIO

Rio, one of Nodin's pups, with his new mom and dad.

Rio is doing really well in his new home. He's taken to everything pretty well. He has had some accidents and have been teaching him the "off" command for his puppy nipping but other then that his crate training and getting used to our cats has been really good for his age.

Hi Linda!

Reuben is doing great! He went to the vet yesterday, and was deemed a happy and healthy puppy!

He and Layla, the Golden Retriever, are still feeling each other out.  He plays a little too rough with her, but is learning.  He really enjoys playing with the cat, Winston, and the neighbor's new puppy, Pepper.

NOTE FROM FOSTER MOM LINDA:
No picture, but it sounds like Rylee (the other pup of Nodin) is dearly loved by his family and everyone who meets her falls in love with her.  Sounds like wherever her "mom" goes, Rylee goes.  So good ending for all of Nodin's pups.

Nodin's pups adopted!

All Dog Rescue and foster mom, Linda, are happy to announce the adoption of all five of Nodin's pups from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. This was the mom and new puppies found on the porch in freezing rain. Pretty Pippa was also adopted but did not come from RLRR.

KREE

Kree is another RLRR pup that was recently adopted out by All Dog Rescue after foster care with Linda. She was the last one adopted of a litter of six orphaned pups from Ponemah.

This story will brighten your Monday! Remember the blog post called "Porch Puppies and their Angel Mom"? Here is an update:

Mother's work is never done

 Nodin's pups have grown like weeds.  The  five pups will leave next weekend into the foster care of Linda for All Dog Rescue.  It is hard to believe that these five very tiny babies have grown so large in the past four weeks. 

Their mother Nodin also has gained weight and is feeling much better and producing large amounts of milk because she has a great grain free puppy kibble, canned dog food as well as vitamins provided by Linda.

Thank you to all the donors, rescues, and transports who help us locate, rescue and move these animals on to a bright future.

Porch puppies and their angel mom

On Thursday, March 7th, quite late at night, Red Lake Rosie's Rescue got a call that a dog was on the porch of the community Center in Ponemah and had a litter of puppies newborn with no shelter. The next morning we sent a local helper, Earl over to rescue the mama and her litter- however, he was unsuccessful.  The owner decided that she did not want to surrender the mama and litter.

Again, on Friday, March 8th, quite late at night, another call came to RLRR and said the mama was still laying in the doorway porch with her babies. Needless to say I did not sleep well that night, and bright and early at 6am, I got in touch with Polly, my lucky charm, and we went to Ponemah on the 130 mile trip in search of the dog and her little family.  The roads were not good and we hoped to make the trip safely.

Well, we found her, and named her Nodin, which means "Wind" in our language.  There she laid on top of her puppies as a mix of rain and snow drenched them. We noticed that her ribs protruded and that her left eye was dead and appeared to be poked out.

Fortunately, because she was so hungry, a nice bowl of food placed in a plastic crate was all the temptation that she needed to enter, and then we put the 5 surviving pups in with her, and found 2 deceased pups laying there as well.

 Polly and I rejoiced as we traveled back knowing that the trip paid off. Now Nodin and her little litter of 5 would be tucked in dry and warm surroundings with all the food and water she needs to support the production of the milk critical to the pups survival. The pictures were taken once she arrived at the shelter with nice dry straw and fleece blankets provided by Susan.
