Update on Sage

It was a long night for ACT V Rescue when little Sage arrived. Sage's neck wound was in need of surgical repair and thanks to the staff of South Hyland Pet Hospital and Sandi (who stayed until 10:00 PM!), we got it done!

Dr. Vicki did a beautiful job at repairing her wound and was able to achieve full closure. (She even used pink sutures!) But poor Sage didn't wake up well and was in so much pain. Vicki and Sandi were so efficient, loving, soothing and calm the whole time and, with the right titration of pain meds, Sage drifted off to sleep comfortably.

Sage has moved to her foster home now where she is already best pals with Calypso- another great German Shepherd that made the journey from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue to Act V last year. These nice people adopted Calypso and love her dearly and now they are caring for little Sage!

You should read (or re-read) the post on Calypso.

Oh, man, this is the best news!!
We remember Calypso so well and
to learn that Sage is being fostered by Calypso's new family is extremely heartwarming. Thank you all so much for caring for Sage, and of course for adopting
Calypso in the past. Karen, the
incredible medical team, and Sage's foster family.....we are
grateful to each of you!!!!
