Dante: You little devil!

Update on Dante!! Karen

Dante was a tiny runt puppy when he arrived at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue.

FROM ARVSS:
This is little Dante that you sent us two months ago. He's in a great home and taking puppy classes. His ears even stand up in "devilish" way!

Kira: Lovely and Loved

Kira was a surrender that came in underweight with a severe wound infection in her right front foot. This husky was taken in by Dr. Vickie of Act V, and she received treatment as well as a great home.

We are so happy for Kira and her family! Thank you Dr. Vickie for helping Kira.

Karen

UPDATE FROM NEW FAMILY:
Here are some pictures of our beloved Kira.

Her foot had to have 2 toes amputated but it does not slow her down one little bit. She just has to wear booties in winter to protect the special foot.

To say that Kira is cherished and loved would be an understatement. She is a full member of the family and lacks for nothing. Kira has several dog beds, lots of toys and chews a most importantly a family that loves her. She is the perfect dog for us.

We are very grateful to everyone that played a part in her rescue and rehabilitation.

APB: Please return RLRR pet carriers

We were at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue yesterday, stacking animal chow and cleaning up the chow barn. This is where Karen stacks all of her vari-kennels as well. She remarked that she is so low on kennels at the moment but they are 'out there' somewhere.

Is it possible to put out an APB on the blog asking groups to see if they have the RLRR vari-kennels to be returned? Karen is especially low on the medium to medium-large kennels, but of course needs all for future transports.

She really only has about 8 kennels stacked in the chow barn so is in desperate need to have the kennels returned quickly. Thanks for any help on this.

Nancy O

Please send an e-mail to animalrescue@redlakerosie.org if you have any carriers to make arrangements for them to be returned. THANKS!!

Last transport of January

Linda Hultquist emailed Thursday and made an early Friday am trip to Red Lake Rosie's. What a pleasant surprise!

She came once more to help take care of cats, and puppies. She did a thorough cleaning of the cathouse as well as fell in love with Li'l Abner, a tiny shep pup.

LI'L ABNERLil' Abner arrived only on Thursday in the back of a pickup truck- weighing about 2# and very mangey. He moved into a cat cage for the next few days until he left with her to go to a Red Lake Rosie foster home.

BOOTSIEAlso leaving with Linda were Seraphrina and Bootsie, 2 cats enroute to Feline Rescue.

MERYL (BLACKBIRD)The last rider was Meryl which means "Blackbird", a little female labbie that was stray found in Red Lake by Polly. Meryl went to a foster home with All Dog Rescue.

We are so thankful to Linda who is a very hardworking dedicated volunteer.

Peace- Karen

Frigid transport

It was fortunate that DeeDee had already planned a visit to the rescue the weekend Karen was too ill to work. DeeDee brought along her son Jordan for his first visit and both of them did a lot of hard work in bitterly cold conditions.

A special THANKS to Kevin, too, for all of his help at the rescue during Karen's illness.

KAREN SAYS:
Well, needless to say we are experiencing record colds up here in northern Minnesota, and were so thankful to have a transport on January 23rd to warmer conditions for seven dogs/pups and Pet Haven foster homes for seven cats/kittens.

WILLARDUNOGARTHDARCEL & DARIONThis was Jordan's first trip to Red Lake Rosie's and when asked what he thought of it, he said it was "intense". He and his mother Dee Dee spent 2 days at the shelter taking care of the animals, clearing roofs, and unloading lots of food donations, canned and kibble for the cats and dogs.

Five of the 7 dogs had been living in the outdoor kennels and we had a record 33 below zero the night before their arrival. They will all appreciate their new "warm" environments.

MILONEE-MUSH & NAPOLEONMOSEYSpecial needs Milo, Napoleon, Nee-Mush, and Mosey are all bound for Animal Ark

SNOWFLAKESnowflake is going to Second Hand Hounds.

Lewey, the cockapoo is going to RLRR foster home with Dee Dee

Thank you Dee Dee, Jordan, Kevin and all the rescues taking the animals.

Sincerely, Karen
