Mike & Lauren's first visit of the new year

Mike and Lauren visited the shelter arriving on January 2 and riding out January 5 with eight dogs and puppies and four cats to the metro.

MIKE WATERING ANIMALSThey were very helpful during their stay helping after the snowstorms, clearing roofs, and caring for cats and dogs.

CHICOThey were able to make a rescue of one puppy left at the Redby dump and in a holding pen in Red Lake and two young cats at the Pound. They did some shopping for supplies and got the vehicles filled with gas. They also made a vet run as we had three neuter/spays and another dog that needed vaccinations.

We had a great time during their stay!

DONNIEBOSSThe cats Donnie and Boss went to Feline Rescue.

RIORio and Sabrina went to All Dog Rescue.

SABRINA

GABRIEL & GALENMARS took Galen and Gabriel as well as two pups from a litter of four.

Twin City Pet Rescue took the other two pups of the litter of four.

Thank you all.
Karen RLRR

LAUREN AND TWO OF FOUR PUPSNOTE FROM LAUREN:
Mike and I went up to help Karen out at the shelter for a few days. It was outrageously cold - for chores one morning, it was -28 degrees! But we bundled up and were just fine once we started working.

DIAMOND
BOOTSIEThere are tons of great cats up at the shelter. I attached a few pics of some. We took home Chico and Rosie to foster through Pet Haven. These little ones had been left in an abandoned home after a family moved.

GINAWe also picked up a little dog named Gina, who has mange all over her face. She looked so pitiful and must have been so cold outside! She is very friendly and sweet, though.

While up at the shelter, we noticed a few supplies that Karen still needs: Rubber pales/buckets with handles, dry kitten and cat food, canned cat and dog food, and smaller scratching posts for cats.

We loaded up my Honda Accord and packed in eight pups and four cats. Rio sat on my lap the whole way back and was a terrific rider. We're so glad these little ones get to go down to the Twin Cities and get warm, loving places to stay.

Wonderful, wonderful!!

These young beautiful cats are waiting at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue for a rescue to take them in, or a foster home or better yet a forever home. Everyone who visits at the rescue comments on what wonderful cats they are.

In case you are looking for the perfect pair -- brothers Orris & Morris were just recently transported to Tricounty Humane Society in St. Cloud.

MORRISORRIS
ORRIS & MORRISOrris and Morris- littermates one grey tabby and one orange tabby, about 1 year old, neutered, vaxed, wormed, and revolution. Both great cats!!

Orris and Morris have been at the shelter since August.

They are littermates and are very bonded. They both left Jan. 12 and I am hoping they can spend some time together at Tricounty before they find their forever home, and my biggest wish is that somehow they would be adopted together.

Hearts & Halos part 1: Last transport of November

Hearts and Halos is a new rescue starting soon in the metro area. Rachel and Cathy came up to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue for a visit on November 27.

Pic 1 is the wonderful cat Boss- a real love bug and Rachel

Pic 2 is a litter of 6 pups that are off to the Animal Ark in the care of Linda Ratay, foster mom

Pic 3 is Percy & Paxton. Percy came in when RLRR got a call a stray pitbull was going to be shot in Redby. He came in quite hungry and with mange. He is very timid and is in need of one to one love and attention. He gained quite a few pounds in the short 2 weeks he was at the shelter and now off to foster care with MN Pitbull Rescue. Paxton (aka Pacman) is a large red pit/mastiff mix also going to the Animal Ark. Pac Man came in weighing 50# and full of cuts all over his body, mange, and starving. He weighs in now well over 100-125#. He has a full growth of hair and is a great guy.

These animals were taken out by Rachel and Cathy of Hearts and Halos when they made the visit on the 27th. They brought many nice blankets, pet beds, litter, and cat and dog kibble. They also brought sweaters and coats for puppies.

They worked very hard during their visit cleaning cat cages, laundry, dishes, and general cleaning in the cathouse.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to working with this new rescue in the future. They love Red Lake animals and are anxious to start taking them in.

Thank you so much Hearts and Halos. The shelter looks much better today and lots of pups and dogs off to a new life.

Peace- Karen Good RLRR

SHY PERCY IS GLAD TO BE IN A WARM FOSTER HOME
Hi Karen,
Everyone fit in the car just fine and were all picked up by Linda and Chloe this morning and afternoon. I have attached some photos from our trip. As you can see, I think Pac and Percy will adjust just fine to indoor life... :)

You have a great facility and it was wonderful to get to meet you in person. Thank you for being so hospitable to us and as always, thank you for all your hard work for the animals!!!!!
