We are so happy that a group of 11 great cats from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue went to the U of M vet school on November 14th to be totally vetted and vaxed pro bono.  Jenny Fitzer and Leech Lake Legacy organized this great opportunity for us.

Carma's visit: Cats!

NOTES FROM CARMA: 
While I was at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue, last Sunday afternoon, I helped Karen in the cat house. 

We changed bedding, litter boxes,and fed multiple cats that she is housing there.

I also had the opportunity to see the food bowls that were piled up in the sink. You can’t believe how many bowls get used in one day of feeding!!! Karen must have nightmares about the stacks of food dishes when she closes her eyes at night!!  

 

 These are just some of the cats that she has onsite.

DENISE SAYS: Karen really should have a dishwasher in the cat house! It would relieve one onerous task and get the dishes cleaner for the cats and orphaned puppies and injured dogs that spend time there. Add it to the WishList!!

Red Lake cats on the move

AHS has been very wonderful the past 2 years in taking Red Lake cats and getting them altered and up for adoption. Jenny and Marilou have been assisting in the placement and follow-up on all animals sent AHS.

Under the Mn Paw protocol all animals are assessed and, if for any reason the animal is not adoptable, we are notified and have the option of taking the animal back.

During the past year we have had only had one cat that had to be returned to RLRR.  Fortunately, a very nice lady from the metro took the cat and fostered her until she found her a great home.

I have attached a picture of two of the beautiful cats that have been adopted. Sadie and Dusty are centerfolds for sure!

RLRR cats looking for homes

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue is beyond capacity with close to 30 cats in the cat house and there is no doubt there will be more cats surrendered at the spay/neuter clinic this weekend.

Please take a look and consider if there is room in your heart, home or rescue for one of these homeless cats. These are not strays, but tame, loving pets in good health and many are fully vetted.

Happy happenstance!

We had a transport Saturday, May 2nd. I had tried to place 3 very nice and fully vetted cats at Tricounty including Phyllis, Snowball and Baily, however, did not get a voicemail from Adam authorizing it until the transport was gone.
SNOWBALLMuch to my surprise there was a message on my voicemail on Sunday morning. Jane, a supporter of RLRR from the metro, was in Bemidji attending the wedding of a vet tech who works at the Clearwater Vet Services, one of our favorite vet clinics. Well, the vet tech just happened to know our phone number and Jane called and offered to transport any animals that needed a ride!
BAILYI met Jane in Clearbrook and the 3 cats went to Tricounty. I think it was so cool how everything "just happened" to work out so well.
