Updates from ARVSS

Animal Rescue and Veterinary Support Services--ARVSS is a wonderful supporter of Red Lake Rosie's Rescue in Wisconsin. They have found homes for many dogs and here are some recent updates:

SUSIE OF ARVSS WHEN SHE RECEIVED THE WHITE PUPSALL FIVE WHITE PUPSHere are the 5 white puppies just before they were all getting adopted. All but one has a new home, and I have asked that the new families send pictures!

GERTY
Hi Susie,
Well, we made it through our first week with Gertie. She has been great despite all of those puppy tendencies, especially wanting to chew everything except her dog toys.

We were a little worried at first, because Rory, our youngest freaked out when Gertie came into the house. She insisted on being held. She is warming up to her and loves to pet her now.

RORY STILL LOOKS A LITTLE WORRIEDGertie is great to walk and we get a lot of compliments on her and her behavior. She has been a great addition to the family.

Thanks,
The S~ family

LOU AND DADHi Susie

Notes from DeeDee

Barbara and I drove up to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue for the first weekend in May to deliver the new cat condos and transport some animals back with us.

CAT CAGESBarbara Bowman designed the wonderful cat condos and had them made. The cages are bright and cheery and provide a lot more room for the cats awaiting placement at the shelter.

BARBARA AND CAT BEDSAlong with setting up the new cages, Barbara deep-cleaned all of the older cat cages and organized the food and bedding, as well.

MAMA PLUS SEVEN ENJOYING THE NICE DAYAmong the 26 animals transported on May 2 were a mama shepX and her seven two-week old puppies. ARVSS, a rescue near Madison, WI, took the mama and pups and 10 other puppies and dogs! Mama and pups relaxed in St Paul before she and the others moved on to Wisconsin.

SUSIE AND THREE OF THE WHITE PUPSAmong the ARVSS animals were a litter of 5 snowy white puppies (3 of whom are pictured with Susie of ARVSS)

SPECIAL THANKS

BARBARAA very special thanks to Barbara for the wonderful new cat cages which she designed and had built as a donation. Then she came up for a weekend of work and assembled them, too! The cats of Red Lake Rosie's will be thankful for the extra space and comfort.

DEE DEEAs always, we are grateful for DeeDee's hard work and support. The transports that continue up to and down from Red Lake don't just magically happen. They require MUCH time and dedication to find rescues willing to accept animals and volunteers ready to make the drive. Then it all has to be coordinated. More often than is her share, DeeDee makes the drive herself.

Many, many thanks.

Transport May 2, 2010

We had a great lineup of animals at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue that were transferred out to rescues on Sunday, May 2nd.

Dee Dee and Barbara came for the weekend to deliver cat cages that Barbara had made for the shelter. They arrived Friday night and helped tuck in 11 new animals that arrived that day. The weather was rainy so it was a very challenging evening to find lodging for the new animals in an already crowded shelter.

FIONAOn Saturday, Dee Dee and I found a little German shep pup we named Fiona, about 8-10 weeks old, walking along the road in McBrides Projects of Redby looking very lost and forlorn. She was loaded with fleas and was ravenously hungry.

FIONAShe came to the shelter and had a good meal, and will be leaving tommorrow for TLC rescue. She was in the right place at the right time and will get a great chance for a home. What a stroke of good luck for this girl.

Dee Dee and Barbara left with 24 dogs/pups and 2 cats. Here are pictures of some of them:

ALEXISAlexis, an little shy shep girl, went to Patti Simonette, Second Hand Dogs.

SANDY SHEPPuppies Sandy & Ferris went to Act V, Dr. Vickie.

ELIMELIASELWOODGEORGIEElias, Elim, Elwood and Georgie went to ARVSS.

GUYWHITE PUPSGuy and litter of white pups went to ARVSS.

PAIGEWe sent another cat, Paige, to Feline Rescue -- They have had such great luck adopting out our cats!!

ALEXANDRIAAlexandria pug mix got placed at All Dog and went on the transport too.
