RLRR cats and kittens need foster care or rescue

Karen was overwhelmed with surrendered animals at the clinic this past weekend. 48 animals left on transports already, but the shelter is still full.

The greatest need is for cats and/or kittens – she has 29.

There are two litters of kittens that are 8-9 weeks old and weaned from their mother, wormed, eating well, normal stool, playful & healthy: one litter of 4 tabbies and another litter of 5 mostly tabbies.

There are also a number of nice adult cats ready to go.

Please contact Karen or me at blog@redlakerosie.org for more information. There is another transport midweek this week.

I took in a cat and six kittens from one household. Their photos are included here and their story follows.

FROM KAREN:
I am sending you some pics of a little survivor kitten.

Apparently last night there were 2 kittens (only about 3 weeks old) dropped off at a residence and a man in the household threw the kittens out of the house. A pitbull outside the residence apparently killed one and this is the little survivor who was taken from the pitbull and still miraculously alive with only a slight injury to the eye.

The kitten was taken to Shaleigh our student worker who brought the little angel to the shelter today. The poor little thing was very hungry and had its first bottle in a couple of days!

I located the source of the kittens and there are 5 more and 2 mothers which I am scheduled to pick up tomorrow. I alerted them NOT to give the people at that residence any more kittens to feed to the dogs.

I am hoping someone will take Survivor on the next transport. The kitten is still doing the crawl and barely moves.

Anyone out there able to help Survivor?

Sincerely, Karen and RLRR

CONT.
I got all the kitties- 5 kittens and 2 mamas from the source of little Survivor.

Thankfully one of the mamas is letting him nurse. She also has 5 tiny kittens that she is nursing- They said born on July 29- so they would be 2 weeks old.

The mama was very starving so I wormed her, gave her revolution topical and kitten kibble and moist food. Boy, she really ate.

Karen

DENISE SAYS:
The six kittens and surrogate mom arrived at my house yesterday and are settling in well. All the littles have a lot of energy and mom cat is driven to distraction. Good thing she can get away when she sits in the window sill or in the sink!
