White Earth surrender event Feb. 14

Hello everyone.  I wanted to thank all of you for helping to make our first event in White Earth a great success!  You should be very proud of the great work we did this weekend. WE Furr partnered with Leech Lake Legacy and Red Lake Rosie's Rescue for this great event.

Here is the final tally:

-19 cats surrendered

-11 dogs surrendered

-Thousands of pounds of dog and cat food provided to dog and cat owners
.

For many of us, this was a first chance to meet and interact with the local community.  We talked to a lot of local residents and I believe in most instances, it was a very positive experience.  Many of the residents were very excited to hear that we would be back again in May for a spay/neuter clinic.

I also want to thank Bill and Teresa for handling all of the logistics in Naytahwaush and for the delicious lunch they provided on Saturday.  And to all of the local volunteers - thank you for being a part of our first endeavor in White Earth.  You are a very critical part of ensuring that these events are successful and we were so happy to have you there.  I hope you enjoyed the experience and also want you to know that if you volunteer again at the May 8-9 spay/neuter clinic, there will be a LOT more to do!

So thanks again to all of you.  It is amazing what we are able to accomplish when we all work together.

Have a great day.
Jenny of Leech Lake Legacy

  1. Does Leech Lake Legacy need any more volunteers for the upcoming event?
