Feb. 3 Transport

TRANSPORT CREWWe had a large truck and trailer of supplies transported by John V. to Bemidji on Friday, February 3rd. He was met by Karen, Kevin, Carolyn and Geri. After unloading supplies, 7 dogs & puppies and 2 cats were transported to the metro. On board were some very "special" furry friends.

WALKERWalker, the little labbie who had not been treated well was so submissive he would not walk but laid on his back and skidded. Here he is up on his feet and feeling "very special" on his way to Pet Haven.

FROSTYFrosty still has evidence of the housefire with his little whiskers singed! He and Foxy are on their way to Cause for Paws in the care of foster mom, Barbara.

BELLA & BETABella and Beda arrive at the shelter one day apart. Both were recovered from the Redby garbage dump. The first one came from Rose. We named her Bella. She has freckles on her nose and eyes which are pinkish blue.

BELLA & BETAThe next day Beta arrive at the shelter with Avis. Avis often goes to the Redby dump and when she finds animals, her good heart won't leave them. Beta would not eat, so she went to the vet, and stayed there for 5 days. She returned in good health and later rejoined her sister (We believe they are sisters because they look so much alike and both were at the same garbage dump.)

They left on February 3rd to foster care with Pet Haven. They are real treasures, not garbage at all!

LITTER OF SEVENWe found 2 litters of pups from a feral colony, a litter of 5 and litter of 7.

LITTER OF FIVEIt is important with feral pups to work with them at a very young age to socialize them. Thankfully John is fostering 2, and Act V took 2 which are in foster care with Connie. They are all coming along quite well.

Thank you to all the rescue groups who take the Red Lake animals.

TRANSPORT CREWA special thank you to Dee Dee for collecting the large load of food and supplies that filled the van to the roof.

Also to John for bringing his truck and trailer all the way to deliver the supplies and food.

Carolyn brought a load of cat crates donated by AHS. We ran low of cat crates and are so happy to have them.

Thank you so much, John! ^_^ Supplies are like gems to us - getting a transport makes our eyes sparkle! ^_^ I'm also glad to hear that Walker is on his way to a good home. I just can't understand people who don't treat their animals well, which makes me think - Thank You KAREN for everything you do!! What would we do without you?!!
