October 2 Transport: A Baker's Dozen

Another weekly transport of puppies and dogs happened on Sunday October 2nd. We sent out 13 with our faithful transporters Nancy, Carolyn, and Barbie on Sunday, October 2nd. We have had weekly transports since the August clinic.

5 OF 8 SHEP PUPS3 OF 8 SHEP PUPS2 OF 8 SHEP PUPSThese little friends came as surrenders during the past week, and two including Tinkerbelle and Wheely had been at the shelter since the August clinic. Twelve went to Tricounty Humane Society and Charlie the pug mix went to All Dog Rescue.

NANCYWe got another load of food from Barbie's porch which will help with our growing food need. There are many hungry animals on the reservation and people are coming daily for a bag of food from our shed. We thank our friends in Bemidji and the metro for all your help for Red Lake dogs and cats.

BABY GUSGUSGus, a little shep mix pup came in as a lone pup surrender. He went to TriCounty.

WHITNEYWHITNEYWhitney, the regal husky came in from one of the housing projects. Lisa told us that Whitney's brother was hit and killed by a car earlier in the week, and she was hanging around her house looking for food.

CHARLIECHARLIECAROLYN & CHARLIECharlie was surrendered by a lady who could no longer care for him.
he had been vetted at one of our community clinics and was a real hit. He rode on Carolyn's lap on the transport and was a very happy camper.

TINKERBELLETinkerbelle was a surrender at the clinic. She came in with a litter of 8 pups and was very malnourished. She has spent the last 6 weeks fattening up and got spayed and vaccinated.

WHEELYWheely was a surrendered boxer/small dog mix. The owner said he was named Wheely- because he was "wheely cute"! ;-)
