There is nothing more dramatic than seeing the before and after pictures of animals that have come to the RLRR shelter in very poor shape only to be transformed into a beautiful healthy and happy being. We want to thank our faithful supporters for making these transformations possible.
JAYCEE ON ARRIVALMeet Jaycee, who arrived at the shelter August 30, 2009, on a hot Sunday afternoon with Tony Infante and his wife Vonnie. Polly had made the rescue and Tony was transporting.
JAYCEE AND PUPSThey were a most pitiful sight, Jaycee and her 7 little mangy pups. They were immediately fed and given ivermectin as they checked into the dirt run which became their home. All 8 were starving and Jaycee was in the worst condition as she was emaciated while trying her best to feed her 7 babies.
Two weeks later her 7 puppies were weaned and went to Pet Projects and all since recuperated and have been adopted to homes under Nancy's great care.
JAYCEE'S MANGY BACK AND TUCKED-UNDER TAILJaycee's recovery has been slow but progressive. She has been spayed and after weeks of ivermectin, good food, and water, she is in very great condition with sleek shiny hair instead of mange. She has her vaccinations, and has tested negative for heartworm. She is quite social and gets along well with Karma and Della, her two best friends who have also walked the same road as she has.
JOYFUL JAYCEE NOWAgain, because of her suffering and long journey we are wanting the very best for this girl. Jaycee is about 50#, walks well on a leash and could use some tlc.
Sincerely, Karen and RLRR
