They say the darkest night is just before dawn. For
Jacob, the darkest night was Sunday, February 16th, when this poor
mangy pit-bull was brutally attacked in Circle Pines of the Red Lake
Reservation.
Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue got the call that a dog was injured in a
yard. We were sickened and appalled when we arrived to find Jacob in a fetal
position against an outside wall near their porch with blood spatter all around
and on the wall behind him. He was shaking and frightened and in shock.
Angered and in shock ourselves, we loaded Jacob in a crate
and took him to the vet where he was assessed to have been lacerated 4 times
with what the vet described as a very sharp blade, knife, box cutter, or razor.
There was considerable blood loss. We estimate that Jacob laid for about 12
hours before we got to him.
We are also concerned that a dangerous person, capable of
this kind of violence, is loose in the community where this person will
injure other animals or people in the future.
We would like to ask anyone who has information about
this brutal attack to contact Red Lake Rosie’s at 218-268-4477.
Anyone wishing to make a donation for vet care or reward
fund may send a check to:

ReplyDeleteYou have truly seen the worst of mankind right here. Thank God you got him. I sure hope he makes it. I am beyond angry and horrified as what poor Jacob has endured.

this is just sad to see that some one can be so cruel to abuse a dog in this way..if the owners did not want him they should of given him away to some one to love him ..and does anybody know whose house it was were Jacob was found ,can they be prosecuted for this horrible crime?
DeleteOMG!! Who could possible do such a thing to a helpless animal, much less leave him to die like that? I hope they find the person(s) responsible for this as only God knows how many other animals of people he/they have injured or killed. I will be sending a check, Karen.
ReplyDeleteMarci
I wish there was a fund to find the person who did this, too.
ReplyDeleteSending a check now. Thank you for helping him!
Oh my gosh this is so sad. It made my eyes water. Please find the person who did this and put them behind bars or get them some kind of help. This is truly sick and cruel. Thank you for finding and helping this poor innocent soul.
ReplyDeleteThank you for rescuing Jacob! I hope a police report was filed and this "animal" is found!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cruel. No animal or person should have to ever endure this kind of cruelty. I hope they find whoever did this and throw them in prison forever!
ReplyDeleteMakes me sick who would do that to a precious dog? Hope they find the sick bastard who did this
ReplyDeleteWhat they should do if they find him is cut him up just like that, then throw him in jail
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie! Godspeed in his recovery. Hope this will get him a much needed kinder more loving home.
ReplyDeleteIf someone can do this to a defenseless animal, what could they do to a human being? Very sick person! Get the word out, please. Get this person off of the streets before something worse happens. Prayers for Jacob.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad and scary. I shared in Hudson,wi. Red wing, mn and Woodbury, mn. let's keep sharing this on fb and let it be known we are seeking justice for this poor pup. We need safety for all animals on this earth. Safety for ourselves and all community members. The person who did this is a predator and must be stopped and receive mental help. So sad!
ReplyDeleteWas he found at an occupied home or abandoned building? Why did it take so long for someone to notice him?
ReplyDeleteHad to donate...there are no words...
ReplyDeleteUpdate please. How is he doing?
ReplyDeleteEver been to Circle Pines (the one on the Red Lake rez, not the one in the Cities) ? Enough said.
ReplyDeleteHow can you do this to a living animal sick people
ReplyDeleteThis saddens me beyond belief! I hope they find them ! Prayers for Jacob , and bless the people that found him !
ReplyDeleteWhen he recovers he will be a great dog. You should be commended for what you do. As a foster for another rescue, the things people do to animals makes me sick. God please watch over Jacob and let the scum who did this chime to justice soon.
ReplyDeleteThere is much evil in this world. Lets all fight it with love and kindness. Lets be angels for animals and people who suffer at the hand of hatred and cruelty.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for Jacob. He had a guardian angel looking out for him to make it through until you could save him. I would adopt him him and spoil him rotten as he should have been from the start.
ReplyDeleteKarma will get you, is all I have to say to whoever done this horrific act! :(
ReplyDeletepeople abuse and slaughter chickens, cows, and pigs nobody bats an eye....people see one abused dog and everyone loses their minds.
ReplyDeletePeople don't tolerate the abuse of any animal. This is a case of sadistic abuse solely to inflict pain on an innocent being. Anyone who is not sickened by this needs to reassess their values.
DeleteThis is truly sick! Whoever did this should have the same just treatment done until him/her. You cannot tell me that this person or persons is not out there abusing others! Whoever did this should be put away for life!
ReplyDeleteDogs and cats are domesticated animals, different than someone's
ReplyDeletereference to the killing of chickens, cows, pigs. Where is the RESPECT for ALL living creatures??......man, women, children, AND animals, domestic and wild.
More than cruel. Inhumane Sickening

ReplyDeleteWhy are there even dogs on reserves? Many other animals are abused in some form, not just this dog. The solution to this act of violence and mental issue is stop allowing these animals to be brought into this world to endure a horrible life, the government is at fault as well, govern these things....make the owners "pay" for spading and neutering. Spend some money and send some people to these places to help with this problem. They run around on reserves in packs, breed constantly....left to fend for themselves from birth, most don't make winter, and the cycle continues. It is a privilege to have these animals as companions, not a right! So grow up
ReplyDeleteI'm so upset that this poor dog had to go through such pain. What kind of animal did this and pls let me know that this person has been caught and punished
ReplyDeleteWtf...whoever did this! Should have the same punishment put on them! This poor animal did not deserve this.
ReplyDeleteIf he needs a home I'll take him, as long as he is good with other puppies as I always have lots at my place. And I'll pay anyone to bring me the guy first!. Colegibb@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad. Not sure how or why this world can be so messed up. I'm just thankful that for every monster there is a team of angles to concer the evil.
ReplyDeleteThat person should feel how that poor dog is feeling.....give him the same treatment....u will be caught.....u should get attempt of murder at that poor animal.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have an update on him?
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't these animals better protected? This so sad and it makes me sick to my stomach. I hope this little guy makes it and the person that did this to him gets what he deserves. I believe in karma..
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy wast of human space this person (s) did I wish that they had the mind set to imagine if that was their own child I have a dog and he is like my kid if anyone ever did that to him man i dont know what I would do but the person who did it i would find them no matter the cost and they would pay ten times worse
ReplyDeleteThe creator has a special place for people who do cruel things like this to other living beings.I believe who ever has done this should confess.
ReplyDeleteLooks like something Michael Furtman out of Duluth would do, just sick!
ReplyDeleteIs their an update???
ReplyDeletehas anyone offered to take Rosie into their home? where do I go to inquire about adopting Rosie?
ReplyDeleteawful awful! Any updates on the perpetrator?
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness - the poor critter ! ! ! I hope whoever did that was drunk & is not usually like that. Meanwhile you will be happy to know that Jacob has been adopted by a loving, gentle family. :-) I saw him recently & he is a happy dog ! He's healthy & well-nourished, curious and friendly, good with kids, just a very sweet animal & I am so glad he was rescued. :-) THANK YOU to "Rosie's", the vet, and whoever called the rescuers, and to all who donated to help him recover.
