Nancy answered the call on Friday November 2nd to transport a load of 37 animals from Red Lake, Leech Lake and Bemidji Pound to Animal Allies of Duluth. With winter impending, we are happy to move animals to warmer facilites where they have an opportunity for adoption.
ALPHABET PUPS
Riders from RLRR included the dogs Tammy, Snooki, Lily, Brownie, Scruffy, Jillian, as well as a litter of 6 sheps and another litter of 2 labbies.
SCRUFFY
LILY
BROWNIE
SNOOKIE
The cats included Harold and Toki, a orphan litter of 3 that went to foster care, Zach, Jack, and Zeke plus a litter of 3 grey tabby kittens from Bemidji area.
Many of the dogs and puppies are the remnants of the clinic surrenders.
JILLIAN
Jillian is a very sweet little dog, who needed help walking on a leash.
TAMMY
Also Tammy, who has been here for the second time, now gets a chance to be adopted. Tammy came in last winter with a litter of pups which we weaned and sent off, except for one pup and Tammy who was spayed and returned to the owner. Unfortunately, Karen got a call in October that Tammy's owner had moved out and Tammy was homeless, and her puppy was hit by car and was dead. Of course we went to search for Tammy and found her with porcupine quills and very thin. She was frightened and took a while to catch, but came around real quickly at the shelter. So this in a sense is her third chance at getting a safe and stable home!
ZEKE
ZACH
JACK
The kittens were all darling. Zeke, Zach and Jack were all rescued by Polly from the Red Lake garbage dump.
The tiny litter of orphans kittens were found in the woods in Ponemah and were rescued by Curtis who brought them to the shelter.
A special thank you to Dr. Wictor of Animal Allies and Nancy for helping get these animals out with hope for good homes.
Sincerely, Karen
