Big Glad Joe

Good news update on Big Joe the St. Bernard who went from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue to Pet Haven for foster care. He has been adopted!

NOTE FROM FORMER FOSTER FAMILY:
Joe (or Joey as we called him) went to his forever home today. He has a wonderful family, including two moms, a doggy brother Earl who is a smaller St. Bernard mix, and a foster sister. His new family fosters dogs as well.

SPA HANDSOMEWithin the first 15 minutes of being in his new home he was playing with his new siblings. His foster sister is much smaller than him so he showed his consideration by lying on the floor to play with her and gentling his energy to play tug with her. Such a sweet gentle boy!

BFF FOSTER BROTHER REXHe lives in south Minneapolis near a lovely park and his new family loves to take long walks with their dogs. There will be plenty of opportunities for Joe to meet other people and dogs which is great since he's such a social guy. They also have a cabin up north so he'll have plenty fun playing on the shore.

X-LARGE BED IS JUST RIGHTHe was only with us a month but his sweetness and gentleness rooted deeply into our hearts. We wish him much happiness in his new home!

  1. Big Joe is such a sweet boy. I was part of his transport team to
help send him on his new journey, and everyone who met him just melted....what a sweet gentle boy. We are so pleased to hear he is doing well! Thank you,
    Karen, and everyone involved in
helping Big Joe find special people in his life.

  2. I'm one of Big Joe's (now named Walter) new mommas and we are head over heels in love with this guy!! He is such a great guy with the perfect disposition. He is blending in perfectly with his new family, playing tug-0-war with his new siblings and making a nice Walter size groove in the couch :) I want to thank everyone who was involved with the rescue of this big ol' guy and for giving him a chance. Because of you we were able to complete our family. Thank you so much!

  4. Hi Denise,

I just attempted to send an update on Walter (with pics) to your email blog@redlakerosie.org and it got kicked back to me saying it failed. Do you have a different address I can send it to?
