Little Deuce recovering

Little Deuce was reportedly wandering around a village on the Red Lake Reservation on his own for over a week.  A concerned citizen saw that he walked with a limp so she picked up Deuce and brought this little guy to the Red Lake Rosie's shelter.
ACT V was very responsive to Deuce's injury and homelessness so they agreed to take him. We are so happy that this little guy got the help he needed. Thank you ACT V!

UPDATES FROM ACT V:
Well, Deuce made it to foster care and so far so good.  He's not using his leg much - yelps in pain with certain motion - but he is a sweet, good-go-along guy! He's living with a couple of Pugs. That's the good news.

The bad news is he is facing a pretty big surgery in the next few days and post-op pain management is #1 on the list for discussion. He's got a long road ahead of him (as does his foster mom).

UPDATE AFTER SURGERY:
Deuce from Red Lake had a tough day. He was probably born with his left knee cap out of place. His bones then turned inward and cause a leg deformity and lameness. Thanks to a very talented board certified surgeon, his knee is in a much better position than is was. We have hope that he will be less lame than he was before surgery. He will have physical therapy to stretch the muscles as much as possible. Thank you Red Lake Rosie’s for sending him our way.

FURTHER UPDATE:
Well, foster living suits our Deuce. He has a nice buddy to pal around with (when they're not napping) and things seem to be looking up...!

It's great to see him in a home environment with good pain control and looking mighty cozy on this rainy evening.
