AHNUNG AT RLRRAhnung (means star in ojibway) was rescued in October, 2008 by Karen Good at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue and was later taken into Pet Haven's foster program ... she was abandoned with a litter of 8 puppies, survivor of multiple gun shots, had heartworm, coccidia and lymes and had ground her front teeth down to her gums in search of food.
Despite her rough beginnings, she has shown the world the power of forgiveness and resilience. She is a therapy dog and has touched the hearts and lives of kids, and those in hospice through her work.
She has also been my north star and walked along side of me in my health challenges. Ahnung continues to be an ambassador for her friends who are homeless (abandoned or abused).
READY FOR SURGERYLast July she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy to remove the cancer. On 4/10/12 we learned her cancer has returned. Her cancer is in a new location and cytology reports indicate a very malignant, aggressive cancer. She had surgery on Friday, 4/13 to remove the tumor and cancer.
POST-SURGERYWe've decided to have a Birthday/Celebration of Life Party! For more information:
http://ahnung-northstar.blogspot.com/2012/04/celebration-of-life-party.html
At 2:30 PM, there will be a short slideshow and presentation to share Ahnung's story and honor her incredible life ... She will be available for the entire time to give out and receive lots of hugs and kisses!
Please let us know if you will be able to join us for the party ... this is a Human only party (with the exception of Ahnung of course ;-)
Please keep Ahnung in your thoughts and prayers.
