Waiting for Astra

Early last fall, a large white puppy known as Astra came to the shelter.

ASTRA & FOSTER FRIENDShe had been a stray in the housing project and began a long wait at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue.

After she gained weight and was fixed and vaccinated, we noticed small patches of demodex mange on her face. Other than that she was in great shape- but who would take a dog with demodex, which is an inerited mange, although not contagious, may be difficult to cure?

Astra spent the long months in a kennel, getting out two times a day to run and romp in the shelter yard, but we were concerned about a future for her.

Well, thanks to All Dog Rescue, Astra finally got her opportunity to leave and enter foster care. We are so happy for her, and want to thank All Dog Rescue for taking a chance on Astra.

ASTRA & RLRR FRIENDSWe recently got a very nice picture of her with her foster brother. Much better home than living alone in a kennel!

ASTRA & FAWN AT RLRRAstra had many friends at the RLRR shelter- but so happy she has a chance for adoption now.

Best wishes Astra!

Sincerely, Karen

  2. I am so excited to say that my family is bringing Astra home with us!! I found her on Petfinder.com, read the description of her from her foster mom, who renamed her Ali, and met her at an adoption event. My daughter and I fell in love instantly!! We invited her to come meet our family, who all just love her! She is so sweet and friendly!! We will be picking her up in 3 more days and we are so excited to make her part of our family!!!! Thank you for rescuing her and giving her the chance at a new life with a loving family!!!
