Old Mother Hubbard's cupboards at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue were getting bare as the demand for dog and cat kibble has been increasing with the poor economy this summer. The good thing is we have never had to say no yet to an animal who needs a bag of food.
Thankfully, Eric of the Shed and this group of faithful transporters and volunteers spent the day on Sunday August 14th loading up the truck and trailer with a replenished supply. We are so thankful to the Shed and Chuck & Don's Pet Food Outlet for being our main suppliers feeding over a thousand animals each year at Red Lake.
Here's a picture of the crew and what Nancy wrote:
We had lots of 'helping hands' on our dog/cat chow run to the Cities on Sunday, August 14. The photo includes, from left to right: Charles, Erich, Mike, Kristin, Nancy, Tom, Sue, Pete, and kneeling we have Sue and "Bear" (unfortunately missing from the photo is helper Delores).
We loaded Tom's trailer with about 4,000 lbs of an assortment of food and supplies for RLRR, generously donated by RFG, and arranged by Erich and Charles from the Chaska Shed. It was a warm 83 degree day tossing boxes and bags of food but we managed to have fun working, laughing, and catching up on news with our wonderful friends.
We are extremely grateful to Erich, Charles, and RFG for this generous
donation, and of course thankful for all the great help.
Sincerely Nancy and the Chow Team
I'd like to have some of Tom and Nancy's energy. Those 2 are amazing! Love you guys!
