RLRR Booth at 2009 Twin Cities Pet Expo -- A Howling Success!

This was the second year for Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue to have a booth at the Pet Expo. We had 12 dedicated volunteers sharing information about RLRR, selling handmade items and proudly showing off Red Lake dogs.

Besides spreading the word about RLRR, we received a lot of donated dog and cat food samples to hand out at the animal clinics in Red Lake this spring. We also raised $620 from sales and donations. And eleven people signed up to help with animal transport, clinics and fundraisers! This was a wonderful opportunity to meet some of the people who have adopted Red Lake cats and dogs and to hear how much they love them! People from the local rescue groups that we work with also stopped by and said how much they appreciate what Karen Good, Founder of RLRR, and the RLRR Support Team do to save animals and to provide humane education to the people in the Red Lake Nation. We also appreciate those who adopt Red Lake animals and the rescue groups that help us.

Thank you to the following people for making this a very successful event:
Lauren, Crystal, Claudia, Jeanette, Colleen, Dee Dee, Rory, little Lauren, Dr. Bartsch, Lindsay and Carmen for working the booth. Nancy and Carolyn for sewing beautiful animal print totes and pot holders and driving them all the way from Bemidji. Laurie and Benay from Washington Island, WI who made yummy dog biscuits. Claudia and Carmen for bringing their amazing Red Lake dogs and Dee Dee and Crystal for bringing their adorable Red Lake foster dogs. Claudia for supplying treats for the booth. Debra and Kathryn for sponsoring the booth and electrical. Carmen, Lindsay and Dr. Bartsch from Akin Hills Pet Hospital in Farmington for helping me load, transport and store donated dog & cat food.
