Office space for Red Lake Rosie's Rescue

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue finally has an office space!

On the front of my house there was a 10' x 25' deck area that was not used. It seemed a good place to collect junk and was basically unuseable in summer due to insects and in winter due to ice and snow. It already had a roof and floor, so we went ahead and enclosed the area, insulated it and finished the floor and walls. The only cost to RLRR for the office was the wiring of the computer jack, phone jack and electricity for the addition.

Previously the files and computer were in a small kitchen area which was cluttered and took up all the living space in the house. Although 10 x 25 feet does not seem like lots of space, it has made a real difference here!

The dogs love the new area, too. Reilly and Julie prefer to rest on the futon couch and hang out in this area.

We love the new space!

Volunteers needed for Oct. 10-13 clinic

We are a month away from the last clinic of the year. The clinic starts on Wednesday, October 10th and ends midday on Saturday, the 13th, so it is a three and a half day clinic.

As usual, we need volunteers to pull this thing off!

We can greatly reduce the number of winter litters born and help ill, injured, and unwanted/stray animals before the really cold temperatures arrive.

Please think about joining us. It's an experience you won't forget, and you will be instrumental in changing the future for many Red Lake animals.

Let me know if you can be there for either part or all of the clinic, and where you would like to stay.

Thanks,
DeeDee

Like a Magnum of champagne

MAGNUM NOW
Check out the original blog post on Magnum. He was a tiny pup in terrible condition when he arrived at Red Lake Rosie's Rescue and now he is such a beauty still months from his first birthday.

MAGNUM AT RLRRUPDATE FROM ACT V:
Well, talk about a "before" and "after"...! This amazing photo is courtesy of J&L who adopted Magnum. J~ has an entire gallery of stunning pictures... just like this! But let's focus on the quality of life little (ha, ha) Magnum is experiencing! Happy ending for this once sick and abandoned pup. Thank you J~ for sending this picture...!!

Hope Church contributes to RLRR

Dear Karen and staff,

Our students truly enjoyed working at your shelter this summer in Red Lake. We were so excited to connect with you, knowing that one of our student's dogs came from your shelter. We are Hope Church in Richfield, MN and were up there July 15th - 20th. Our students were so encouraged by you, Karen, and what you are doing.

As a group we would like to make a $500 donation to your shelter.

God bless you and the people of Red Lake. It was a very powerful experience for all of us who went on the trip.

Sincerely,
KC DiNardo

Karen as Vanna!

Today was a great day. We had a beautiful refrigerator from an anonymous donor delivered to the clinic warehouse.

Now we will have no shortage of refrigeration. It even has a lock!!

Thank you so much!
Karen

Avis, the rescuer

Red Lake Rosie's Rescue is happy that we have a friend and partner in rescue in Redby at the center of the Red Lake Reservation and location of our clinics.

AVISWe often get a call from Avis as she finds many animals in distress, many at the local garbage dump. Avis just cannot turn her back on the animals she finds, from orphan geese, to puppies, dogs, cats and kittens of all sizes.

GOOSEYShe has rescued about 100 animals in the past 5 years. She is a model pet owner who has her own little tribe of dogs and cats who are all well cared for and loved. We appreciate her so much.

MANDYAvis rescued Mandy, a salt and pepper husky shep at the Redby dump in May. Mandy went on to Tricounty and she got adopted by a nice man with a 32 acre fenced in area. She is very healthy and happy thanks to Avis.

ISAACMost recently, she called about a little 5 month old husky mix we named Isaac. He was found in the woods adjoining the Redby dump. He has a broken pelvis, dislocated hip, a back wound and malnutrition. In spite of that he crookedly runs around like a little hurricane.

Thankfully, he will go to the care of Dr. Vickie of Act V who we hope can help this little boy walk normally again.

Sincerely, Karen
