Marilou Chanrasmi (president of Pet Haven) and her pet partner Ahnung are an active animal therapy team and will be hosting a free therapy dog informational session at Pampered Pooch Playground. Ahnung (pronounced ah-NUNG and means "star" in ojibway) is a rescued dog from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue and a registered therapy dog and is leaving paw prints in the hearts of youth at schools where she volunteers with her mom. In a couple months she will also begin volunteering at hospice.
Ahnung's dream is to start a movement in Minnesota of animal therapy teams and to inspire others to go through the necessary training to become registered animal therapy teams. Ahnung is loving her "job" as a therapy dog and wants to let you know why you and your dog should consider it too!What you will learn:
What makes a great therapy dog?
What kind of training is involved and how long will it take?
What are the requirements for the dog? and for the handler?
